Plus Size, Preggers and Proud!

I'm so glad that you've all joined my little PPP thread! :yay::love::yay:

I was going to suggest we get some PPP pics up, but as my own camera isn't working, I can't well expect you all to do what I can't!
I will get one up sooooon!
If any of you feel brave enough to post one first, though, feel free :D

My doctor didn't say much about my weight and TTC or being up the duff, as it were, but I was trying to slim down. I went from a 22 jeans to a 18/20 jeans, so not bad =]

But hey, this isn't a slimming club! PPP! :D x

Heulyn, we are really close in due date too! I really am happy for this thread. I dont mind putting pics up once I start to show. xx

it will depend on your bmi if you need extra care as mine is still over 35 i have been told i will be offered a pregnancy dietitian clinic appoint which i personally will decline but every area is different if your bmi is under 35 they dont class it as too much of an issue

SerenityLove, at 5'4 and 14stone, my BMI is over 35 lol x

Sorry i'm in tri 2, i'm a size 16 and nearly 5 ft 4inc. I was always very skinny and found it hard to put weight on when i met oh 10 years ago i was a horrid size 6!! I was about a size 12 when i got pregnant with my first i put on a lot of weight not cos of baby but all i did was eat!! I went to 13st when my first was about a year and a half but some how lost it not to sure how cos i was on no diet, i put on under a stone with my 2nd and 3rd so that was great as after they were born it was mostly all gone. I've got the jelly belly thing going on but if i could choose being a size 6 or 16 well 16 ALL THE WAY!! WE CAN STILL BE BIG AND BEAUTIFUL!!

My BMI is 37, so I think they will put me under a consultant. I am seriously dreading my first midwife appointment... xx

my bmi is 39 but they have said i'm low risk. i thought i was going to be put under a conultant but it all depends on other factors such as family heart disease, blood pressure etc...
to be honest no-one has ever mentioned my weight being a problem! i'm still trying to be good and not eat junk and so far i've not put on any weight - in fact i have actually lost four pounds since i found out! x

RakRak, that sounds promising! I 100% trust my body, and neither of us really have any medical conditions in the family. I normally have very good blood pressure. I suppose I will just have to be brave and take the bullet if they send one my way!! xx

I'm about a size 14 top and a 16 bottoms. So yeah! :)
My bmi is 32. When I talked to my midwife, I actually didn't realise I needed to lose weight until she told me my bmi. But like she said, there's nothing you can do about it now, so worry about it later. Which is true. I can't do much about it while I'm pregnant. So after the baby comes, I'll work on losing the weight.
I used to do dance in college and I did wrestling in my free time. But I dropped out of college and ended up putting weight on. Then with wrestling it affected my ankle, which kept getting injured lol, so I had to give it up. So yeah I put weight on because my body was so used to excercising a lot.
But oh well, I'd rather be my size now than extremely skinny any day.

Got my booking appt on the 8th! so excited but really scared at the same time! I got my pack today to fill out b4 the appt and there is a note to the midwife to refer ppl if BMI is over 35, so I am sure that will be me.... :( x

Can I please join???

Im 5ft 3 and size 16 top, 18 bottom.

Glad you made this thread and I know there are more ppl out there feeling exactly like me xx

Of Course Lyndsey!
I might even make a blinkie or something.... Hmm... =]
x

Haha! This thread got me all emotional - seems to be happening a lot for some reason! ;-)

I'm pushing size 20 trousers now. Not complaining as i've a beautiful little baby swimming about inside (somewhere!) I'm not 1st tri either (21 weeks on Wed) but i'm sure you can let me off!

It's really interesting to know that not everyone is a tiny stick before they get pregnant! Wahoo!! :-)

xx

This thread is really reassuring. I'm not a skinny thing either and am fed up of myself (again). I lost weight but due to PCOS (and going off-plan for eating) it's gone all back on again, and then some. I hate the fact I have to live on a "diet" to maintain what is still a huge size for someone my height :( I'm currently going through a massive "I hate my body" couple of weeks and it's having a bad effect on TTC (Hubby doesn't mind and is so lovely about it - but it makes it worse)

But :yay: that other people are out there who aren't skinny minnies and getting pregnant and being happy about it :) I'll be on board...soon!

ToffeePop- I was really concerned about conceiving being overweight, it was constantly on my mind. We ended up conceiving once we decided we were going to let it stress us out! xxx

Ah this thread is great....well im def a PPP! Never been a twig...alway was about an 16-18 top and 20 bottoms....then wnhe became ill I spilled on the pound being in wheelchair and very imobile and now Im 22-24 bottoms and 18/20/22 tops again depending on where I shop! And I STILL LOVE ME!!!!!

When preg with DD I gained almost 4 stone...lol but weigh has gone up and down over the years but whatever size I am I am always comfortable with it and it never gets me down or changes my personality etc....

Love me love my ripples.....and he does bless him!! lol

PPP and healthy all the way ;-) xxx
