If, like me, you are basically crap at remembering to do your PF exercises, you can get an app on your phone to remind you.

I searched for a "pill reminder" and set little daily alerts.

Anyway, thought I'd share with you in case it helps :) x

thanks bump buddy useful to know as Im obsessed with doing mine now since afraid to say i suffered my first episode of slack bladder the other day mortified was not the word and I was at home xxx

Hi BB

Hope you and Minion are well?

Oh no! It happens to the best of us hun. There's no dignity!

I've not done mine in ages so doing extra right now lol xxx

I aint been doing any! my midwife has not even mentioned my pelvic floor yet. The only time I have done it is when we did it during a yoga class a few weeks back.

is it really that imperitive?

Erm I think so. My mw and physio said I had to do them. Just reading my ready steady baby boom and it says it is to help stop stress incontinence xx

Ermm iv heard that during pregnancy you have to do excises but Noone has told me what excises or how :\
Is this something you have todo :\ x

I'm rubbish at remembering to do them!

& ladies who didn't know, it strengthens your pelvic floor muscles to help during and after labour but also stops 'leaks' lol. x

Using tapatalk so excuse the typos!

I know that they're important and everything but I have no idea what I'm meant to do. No one has mentioned it to me at all. How do you go about doing them? Is there a specific way or is it safe to google and all will be ok during pregnancy? x

erm, its hard to explain. You clench your muscles as though your stopping yourself going for a wee, maybe somebody else can explain better lol

Yeh we are great thanks its V-day for me today canny believe it. How are you and bump?

Im just glad it happened at home and I was able to get changed. I had only just been for a pee and just shuffled back on the couch and thought "christ i can feel something"

I do mine at every opportunity lol xxx

As Em91 said its hard to explain but basically thats all you do clench your muscles down below. I tend to hold clenches for a few seconds while doing them. Its not meant to be good for you doing hem while peeing as it can stop you empying your bladder properly. xx

Thank you! I will be getting on those today then I think, my sneezes are starting to have to be prepared for and now I have a cold so this could be excellent timing lol

sneezing can be a dangerous activity lol as can squatting down which I found out when I did this while looking for something on a low shelf at work I had to get up and get to the loo quick sharpish lol xx

Oh sounds risky! I'll avoid squatting in that case lol. Now if only I could learn to not sneeze...
x

This thread reminded me!

But I haven't done any since the last thread on them was about

I will try to fit them in daily now....

xxxxxxxx

I do them every day but not many just a few. A few people have scared me senseless about peeing my pants for ever more so figured I best try. I go to babyfit and they make you sit there in a group and do them!

I have already had a few near misses......Argh!xx

I've been doing them since my first pregnancy and my midwife scared the pants off me! Stress incontinence and prolapse run in my family so I tried extra hard to be good about them. Luckily so far so good although my first birth was a breeze and I only carried to 30 weeks with my second... 12 years of pelvic clenching lmao, I have a pelvic floor of steel.... Just call me mumfink ;-) xxx

Mumfink

I was told you have to chlench your muscles, as if you're simultaneously trying to stop yourself having a poo and wee.. I'd be gutted if I did what I thought to be the right exercises and ended up doing no good at all! x

Doing them now and thinking 'what' I'm actually doing, but yeah that's about it, you can try and hold your tummy muscles whilst you do it (harder into later pregnancy lol) squeeeeze..... Release.... breathe..... Squeeeeze lmao

Post pregnancy lots of hospitals have a 'tummy check' clinic in the physiotherapy departments and will teach you lots of great exercises on making sure your tummy muscles come back together well and pelvic floor, core strength etc. My hospitals is by drop in sessions a couple of times a month and I'll be using them again!

Lmao my mum blames me for being born with my arm/elbow above my head for her stress incontinence issues and she had to go through some rather intimate testing to get it fixed surgically so I was paranoid about suffering myself... I'm Older this time round so am probably even more and will probably be less lucky lol
