PCOS and preg tests.....

So I read on a website that if you have PCOS pregnancy tests do not always pick it up if your pregnant, im really starting to believe this as there is a lot of women out there that thought they were, did a test and got a bfn but when they are unwell months down the line they find out they are pregnant



What do you think do you think this could be true? I wonder if its happened to anyone on here

ive googled it twice today aswell and on both forums the women have said the tests were negative, but later on discovered they were

I've never heard that before. I wonder why that would be? I hope the tests I did were accurate - how gutting would it be to be taking fertility medication that could damage the embryo without knowing you we're preggers?!

something to do with male hormones or something, it could just be one of those things that doesn't affect everyone with pcos though-when I told my husband last night he said now that's more frightening than seeing a ghost knowing you could be preggers and yet get a negative result

Try not to worry, if you scroll down on the link the doctor says PCOS won't give false negatives. I think the woman on the link is just like most of us and had loads of preg symptoms on a month where she wasn't actually pregnant. She mentioned the linea negra that you get on your stomach when pregnant-you wouldn't have that at 4 weeks so I think it was one of those times when ttc makes us so desperate to find a sign or symptom. I know I have been there.

Also, I noticed the people that said the pregnancy tests showed as negative when they were infact pregnant, were talking about pregnancies from some ten or so years ago when I imagine pregnancy tests weren't as sensitive xx

I have severe PCOS and his is my 13th pregnancy and tests have picked my pregnancy up each time but not very strong until I have been a bit further down the line. I am just over 5 weeks now and getting very strong positives this time round but I shed 8 stone so don't know if that's made a difference with my PCOS as we were due to go to our consultant as I found out I was expecting xx

oh my gosh you poor love. 12 losses? God bless ya for carrying on and I hope lil bauble is the sticky one and we follow each other through the tri's.
I have bad PCOS too and had no trouble getting pregnant.
