Babybee, you had a good day! My last car cost me 450 squid at it's last MOT!!!

Today was going to be difficult as I had a slight "breakdown" last night because of all the work going on in this house, and when we had a burst pipe last week, all the stuff from the cupboard it burst in got dumped in Mhairi's nursery, and hasn't been moved since, I am living in a *bleep* *bleep* building site at the moment, and I think my wee girls carpet is ruined, just when I had it all looking lovely. So I blew my top last night, crying, stropping, told my mum and dad I couldn't live like this anymore etc. My mum was crying, my dad was panicing......not nice. But we're back to normal today, my dad was even going to take today off work to sort it, but I told him I felt better just getting it all out, and that I could wait till the weekend. So, fingers crossed, my positive for Sat/Sun will be that my babay's room has been restored!

So anyway, , on with today!

* The tiler finally turned up! So the grouting in the kitchen is done! Only 1974389283570291 jobs to go!!!

* Walked with Mhairi in her pram to the baby clinic today to get her weighed

* She is 16lb 4oz and they are really happy with her, said she was such a bright wee thing!

* My Aunt is just off the phone and she is going to drop this off tomorrow!

This is just a pic I found on the web, but it's exactly the same, Tenby in grey!! Can't wait to go out walking with it!!

Going to keep on pushing on with this positives thing! It really does make me get up and do things!

Awwww Lainey Im sure by the weekend Mhairis bedroom will be looking all lovely again! And WOW to your pram... bet you'll feel like the bees knees pushing that down the street!

Oh, and if I told my DH that I wrote on here that we had a bonk... he'd kill me!

Lainey, where are you from? The pram is lovely - where I am from, its known as a Peterhead pram! Does that mean anything to you? Good for you for putting your foot down re. Mhairi's nursery! Will they pay to replace her carpet too?

Foxxi - did you enjoy your bonk? Imagine doing it in the daytime, how exciting!

Babybee - well done on the MOT!

My positives from today:-

* Took DD to a FANTASTIC (can't recommend it highly enough) Sing & Sign class - we had such a good time baby signing!

* Took DD swimming with OH when he got home from work (she's been a lucky girl today!)

* Came up with a cracking good idea for a new business, just need to persuade OH to let me give up the day job!

* Washed a load of nappies and got them hung outside in the sunshine in my garden

That's it for today I think!

Thanks girls! I'm hoping the carpet isn't actually ruined, it's just hard to tell under a pile of old computers, draughtsmans books, escape ladders, duvets, old tiles, sledgehammers, ropes, clothes rail, three suitcases, 470 million CLASSIC classic bike magazines, a teasmade (WTF!?!?), 4 reams of paper, a toilet seat, my dads tool kit from when he was an apprentice in 19canteen.....shall I go on!?

Valentine, I'm in Greenock, I've ALWAYS wanted a Silver Cross Heritage, but I refused to pay almost £1000 for something that you couldn't fit in the car! There are loads of lovely walks around here, and it's sooo easy to push a big pram! The weather is looking up, so I can't wait to get out and about with it!! Mhairi sleeps 100 times better when she's had some fresh air, so it'll be good news all round!

I've not heard of it being called a Peterhead pram before! In this town, the old yins you meet out on a walk are more interested in the Silver Cross than the baby!!!

I like the fact that it's an old one and I haven't seen a grey one in years......only the best for my girl!

I'm glad everyone is enjoying this thread.....I think I'll change the name of it to OUR Positives!!

And I wanna see pictures of the finished result ... If needs be, I'll come to Greenock with my shirt sleeves rolled up and get stuck into it with you Oh...and i am too lovin' this thread!

Valentine.... I'd love to go to baby signing.. but we dont have it here.. Iv done a bit of research and cant seem to find it goin on anywhere here it sounds like soo much fun. As for our bonk.. it was fab.. pardon the pun, but it was a long time coming! And, it did seem really naughty doin it during the day .

Hiya girls

Glad your all sounding so positive!!!

Mine for today are:

* Jack wasn't sick all day

* I booked an appointment to see a councillor for the cambridge diet, normally wouldn't be my first choice for losing weight but I feel like I need to lose it quickly cos i'm panicking about my holidays and was getting me down.

* I went to the solicitors and signed my divorce papers so hopefully within 8-12 weeks I should be back to normal.

* I changed my name by deed poll to Miss Mair rather than my double barrelled married one I feel young free (but not single) again! woohoo

* I cooked a cod fillet with all healthy salad to go with all by myself (was minging though much better with batter on )

right, im need to start listing my positives again, instead of looking at the negative.

* i had my first counseling session today - ok, i don't feel like everything is going to change overnight, but it was nice to have a chat and a good cry.

* its FRIDAY tomorrow!!

*still haven't found anywhere to live, but we are going looking again this weekend. It will be nice to get alice her own room so i don't have to dance around boxes of toys!

*me and alice made some cupcakes (she loves stirring the mixture!), we covered them in bright blue icing!! they look like smurf cakes!!!

*alice said "bye mummy" and blew me a kiss earlier! first time she has linked two words together!!! might be a fluke, but im going with it not being! Also, if she says more, and you say "what do you say if you want more?" she says please (and signs thank you!! )!! she is growing up so quickly!!



i agree sweetcheeks - fish without batter just isn't right!!!

Lainey that pram is gorgeous, I'd love a Silver Cross. I don't know how many times my mum has said she wished she'd kept ours!

My positives for today (and the last few coz I've not wrote them down)

* Dad has had his 3rd operation in 2 weeks but *fingers crossed* this one seems to have worked and he's feeling a bit better
* Sent some e-mails to old friends
* Took Dylan swimming with sisters & nieces and nephew
* Wrote down all the questions I need to ask at meeting at work tomorrow (in Greenock - I'll wave to you Lainey )
* Got email to say there's spaces on Musical Minis - a course for me and D that we've been waiting on for a while
* Washed bedding and got it all out on the line - smells lovely
* Took D to get weighed and he's 18lb 9oz now so doing well

That's all for now, hope I have some more tomorrow after my meeting at work coz they owe me some bonus money x

and the change in the title of this thread is good I think about it during the day and think what i'll put down. It really makes me remember the things that we need to be thankful for! It also helps me turn negatives into positives so woooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Decided if I list my positives it may make me less morbid and generally pessimistic.

- My friend came round for some sisterly support because her OH just broke up with her, I made us a picnic, we went a walk, and she left feeling better.
-My grandad and his friend came over from Wales for a visit.
-Willow giggled a lot
-I had icecream and hot chocolate sauce
-I found my favourite book from when i was 10 and decided to re-read it
-I get a day off tomorrow
- The weather wasn't too bad

alice is being lovely and cuddly

im going to have a nice long soak in the tub

but OH is being a selfish prat and is going out when we can't really afford it anyway, but we are mean to be saving... im trying to turn it around to me and alice get t play loads and then i get full control of the remote all evening!!!

That's great Sam, it's all about finding even the slightest positive thing you can and focusing on it, and trying to turn your negatives into positives!

Today for me -

* Mhairi went to her other Gran's this afternoon

* So my mum and I went for a pub lunch!

* Whilst on said pub lunch, I got the buffet for Mhairi's christening sorted! (Still waiting on her Dad speaking to the priest, but, I'm not thinking of that just now )

* Put my iPOD on shuffle and Mhairi and I sang and danced around the kitchen until bedtime!

* Mhairi has been a wee angel all day, so fingers crossed for the weekend!

Right.. here goes mine:

* I cant believe this one....... but, we had a 'morniner' dunno whats gotten into my hubby lately but I aint complaining!

* Me and Fynn got in the big bath at teatime.. he normally cries in his own bath.. so tried him in the big bath for the first time..and he loved it!

* Hubbys interview went well.. (I know this is not a positive of mine.. but thought I'd put it down anyway).

* 1 week today and we'll be laid in the sunshine

* I bought 2 pairs of sunglasses today.. they where meant to be £25.00 each.. but I got them in the sale for £3.00 each (I have a bit of a thing for sunglasses )
