Just found out my wee cat is having to be put to sleep on Monday. I'm devastated :-(

Know it's for the best as she'd be 19 this year but I've had her since I was 10 and she's a part of the family.

xxx

Hugs xxx So hard when you have to lose a close family pet xxx

Thanks girls. Know it sounds silly to some getting so upset over a pet but I'm gutted. xxx

Oh I'm sorry hun, and its not silly at all, they become part of the family, my dog is my baby and id be exactly the same. Perhaps plant a nice tree in her memory, I'm so sorry sweety, big hugs xx

Thank you hun :hugs: You're right, they're like your family. Going to stay at my mum's tomorrow and say good bye. We're getting her cremated and planting a little tree in my parents' back garden xxx

It'll be so hard, but with your mums support and hugs you will get through it, and I am assuming she will be better off and no longer suffering which you know is for the best. Maybe celebrate in her memory, try not to make it any harder for yourself, I really do sympathise, and you must never feel silly, bollocks to anyone who says you are (apologies for the swear word ;-) xx

Oh I am so sorry to hear this. I know how u feel, I had my cat for 20yrs and my mums neighbour took it upon herself to have her put down in 2010(long story!)

Its such a nice idea to plant a tree in her memory. Its so awful to lose a pet, they really do become another family member so its not silly to be upset over this at all.

Really hope ull be ok, Monday will be a difficult day :( xx

I'm so sorry to read this hun, it's not silly at all to feel the way you are feeling, hope that staying with your mum and the cremation brings you some closure xx

Thanks hun. She's not herself so we'd be cruel keeping her going for us. Appreciate the use of the bad word there :) xxx

Thank you. Thought some would be thinking get a grip if I posted that but you're all so lovely.

Oh my goodness, that sounds a bit horrible about your neighbour... Your poor cat :hugs:

Not looking forward to Monday even though it's for the best :( xxx

I treat my 3 cats like my children and will be absolutely devastated if and when it is their time to go, if someone does not understand why you are so upset they obviously never had a cat in their life before.

The tree planting is a great idea, i would of loved to do all of that with my first cat but he went away to die and we never found him :(

So sorry hun. My three cats are like my babies and I too would be devastated if anything happened to them. At least your cat has had a lovely long life x
Take care

Sorry to hear about your kitty. Losing a pet is just as sad as losing a family so it's not silly at all just as all the girls have said.
Take care n hope you are okxxx

So sorry to hear it hun. 19 is an AWSOME age and proves he was well loved and cared for.

*mega huggles*

Thanks for the lovely messages. We're going to see her tomorrow and I'll bring her some prawns which are her favourite. Poor wee baby :( xxx

Sorry to read this hun,

We had our childhood cat PTS aged 18 (I's had her since I was 3) it was a heartbreaking decision but the right thing to do for her.

We have our own cat now, she is only 4 but already I worry about the sad day we'll have to say goodbye to her!

Having a cat is such a pleasure but also very bittersweet

xxxxxxxxxxxxx

So sorry. I had my childhood pet for 19 years and was actually devastated when we took him to be put to sleep. That day broke my heart. I went out later that week and had a paw print tattoo on my tummy. That was 10 years ago when having a baby never entered my mind.....imagine my tattoo now....it's soon going to be a hand print!

Your kitty is part of your family and although nothing will take the hurt away just now, I hope in time you'll feel less sad. I have my own furry baby and I worry about the day I know will happen. He's my life and I love him to bits. When u have a pet for that long you really do just expect them to be there forever.

Sending love xxxx

Aw girls, I know I keep saying but you're all so amazing.

Nice to hear that others understand and love their furry friends as much as I do. Was at work this morning and burst into tears telling my work friends. My boss walked over to see what was wrong and when I said she was like, ".....oh....." and walked off. Boot :(

Xxx
