OPK frequency question

Hey there!
I used boots OPks this month but only used the 7 tests in the pack . I didn't have any positive results so I guess that I either missed the LH surge or ovulated later or early than when I used the tests. I have ordered some cheapies off amazon and was wondering how often everybody else tests during the day? The instructions advised to test once during 10 and 8 but I'm thinking about testing twice during the day?
My cycles ranges between 28 and 31 days

2pm and 8 pm just incase! And try not to drink in the 2 hours before xx

6pm (ish) on CD 10/11/12 and then usually 2pm/6pm/10pm when i start seeing the surge

i have actually done 4 today... feel so naughty!

Thanks for your help I've stocked up on tests but I just need my AF to show up then I can start looking forward to my next cycle. I have done 4 HPTs all neg so I know I'm not pregnant.
