March Result

10.11 m/ml
34.40 m per ejaculate
66.50% progressive motility
4.9% non progressive
28.60% immotile
71.40% total motility
4% morphology

Junes Result

44.50 m/ml
89 m per ejaculate
20% progressive motility
9% non progressive
71% immotile
29% total motility
3% morphology

calculators online indicate gone from 0.6m motile/viable sperm to 0.15m

.. so now we are on more count but less motile, less morphology. one thing after another -
i dont think we have any chance to conceive naturally cant even be bothered with ttc now.

I dont know what to do / remove please people shout if something sounds not right
he's on
wellmans conception,
omega 3, ashwagandha 500mg, black maca root 500mg, selenium 200mcg, vitamin c 500mg, vitamin d3 a small dose (25ug)

What i was thinking we should do..
possibly drop selenium.. there is 150ug in wellmans as it is.. and we take 200mcg on top of this...
vitamin c increase to 1000mg a day unless eaten.

So sorry the results were so dissapointing.
Has your OH started exercising?
Have you asked about the supplements he takes whether they do or don't conflict?x

For some reason im hoping its just a bad batch and counts gone up & motility/morphology are fine. Cant believe they would go from so good to so bad..

He actually went and phoned docs straight away about this one so hes ganna ask about supplements. Im ganna suggest he goes on a small diet as well Oo hes not fat but hes podgy. Re exercise wouldnt be very easy to fit in cause of way he works but again its poss if we try hard enough. :)

I’m sorry you got disappointing results. Hopefully it’s just an anomaly. Will you get feedback about how to improve or what supplements to continue or stop ? Xx

I'm sorry the results were disappointing.

Although the time to process was a little longer, I'd expect the lab would have rejected the sample if that was an issue.

I'd suggest general lifestyle improvements for your OH. We did this and saw huge improvement. Anything that applies from eat better/more exercise/less alcohol/less caffeine/less sugar/no smoking/lose weight. Again it was difficult with his job but if you want it, you'll find a way.

I've never been a big fan of supplements. Yes we tried plenty in desperation but I'm of the camp that if there was a miracle supplement, we'd all be taking it. Yes there may be an informed reason to take a particular thing but that's the time to take it rather than taking loads of things which may or may not be causing more problems. Obviously just my personal experience. Also when we finally got pregnant I was down to vit d/folic acid and he was taking a general multivitamin not even a fertility one.

I know you have your scan soon so after that I'd push for a referral to the fertility clinic so you can discuss everything in context and take their advice on what can/can't be done and any supplements that are worth your time and money. Definitely wouldn't discuss with the GP as there is no way they will have the specialist knowledge that you need.

Good luck!

Thanks Moomin
I feel same re push to see a fertility consultant asap now-
Its conflicting as his counts have quadropled but weirdly other stuff has been slashed in process? So im v confused how counts can have improved so drastically and other stuff declined?

The morphology is still classed as ‘normal’, anything 3% and below is when you should be worrying so I wouldn’t worry about that.
I think you should speak to a specialist about the supplements he takes, it does seem to be quite a lot.

Kk our sheet says 4% + is normal? Who knows lol..
Agree going to attempt to talk with someone about supplements
Its weird as count has quadropled from 10-44 so somethings working but also not?

Can i ask what supplement he took?
Also was it on this supplement you got normal result?
:)

My memory is a little fuzzy on the exact details but I think we started Wellman after the bad results. This was at the same time as all the lifestyle improvements. For him it was mainly around improving diet and exercise which meant he lost a bit of weight too. None of the other things I mentioned like smoking etc applied for him.

Other things we tried were omega 3, zinc and coq10. I took the same supplements and also did the lifestyle changes as it was just easier for us both to do it. Also we had problems on both sides so we could never be sure where the issues really were.

He did another sample which was totally normal. After a while I was getting rather fed up so we started to reduce them down but kept up the lifestyle changes. As we had issues with the first fertility clinic and needed referred to another, they needed an up-to-date sample from him which again was normal. I'm sure he was just talking a bog standard multivitamin by this point and possibly the omega 3/zinc as we were just using up the supply. We didn't do coq10 long as it was so expensive.

When we actually got pregnant I'm almost certain he was only taking the multivitamin. I was definitely only taking vit d/folic acid.
