****** October 2018 Mummies! ******

Cornishgirl that’s good your booking appointment isn’t that far away :)

My doctors surgery is brilliant so I’ll be pretty much exactly 8 weeks when I have that appointment. :)
I’m excited to get all booked in because if it’s anything like last time then it’s not long after that you get a scan date through! :D

That’s really good. My doctors gave me a different number to ring for the midwives as they’re not based at my doctors surgery. I will be 10 weeks when having the booking in appointment!!! Hoping the scan is not long after that as just wanna check everything is ok.

Yeah at least you’ll have less time to wait for the scan! :)

There doesn’t seem to be many October BFPs does there? September is super full. I wonder why that is?

I had my appointment which was all very straight forward and got my referral.

God I am becoming a moody cow emotional wreck doesn’t quite cut it I’m lethal with my

Maybe because it's still early February? There are probably many more to come, they just don't know they're expecting yet!

Also could have to do with the holidays and people not having time to DTD/feeling fat after Christmas weight gain. At any rate, we are a cool group ;)

So a question for you all I am the only one still
Slightly scared to do the deed since my bfp?

I think September is generally a super busy baby month, but it took a while to get as many people as we have in the September thread. Still time for this one! x

I think there maybe a few watchful waiters who probably will join maybe once theyve got their head around it or had early scan etc. Im sure it will fill up soon x

Ah we’re due date buddies!! I think it’s gonna when go for dating scan though as will be more accurate than online due date predictor.

Not at all we haven’t yet either! I think my husband was a bit worried about causing something to go wrong as well as he kept asking when we found out if it was safe. Tbh it doesn’t really help that I’ve been so tired this last week either.

Hi all, can I tentatively come in and say hi?

I'm 5+4 with my first baby, due 4th October by NHS calculator's reckoning. Not seen my GP. I've contacted my local maternity services today to book my first appointment, so waiting to hear back from them.

It feels so early! I'm still a but reluctant to talk about it much in case anything goes wrong - we haven't told family yet, my OH would like to talk to everyone next week, but I'm starting to chicken out and want to wait till I've had a scan and it's confirmed this is actually real! Feels weird cos I normally tell my mum everything...

Along a similar line - I'm a nurse and I work with people with brain injuries who have the very real potential to hit out/ harm me in some way, and we do occasionally have to physically manage behaviours - do you think I should tell work sooner rather than later, considering this risk?! I kind of just want to stay in this bubble until 12+ weeks, but maybe that's too risky...??

Thanks for any advice, and hi to the other October mummies :-)

We DTD twice since the BFP but both times i was scared out of my wits. OH is away skiing this week so next week whesn hes back and i hit 7 weeks i will amp it up!

Hi and welcome RosiePosie90! :)

In your situation I’d definitely tell work sooner. I told my manager at 4 weeks just in case I needed to step away from my desk (I man the emergency line).
Also if you tell your mum everything then I’d also tell her. I feel like we should tell whoever we’d want support from if something went wrong. To me that was my sisters and my husband told his best mate because men need someone to talk to as well! :)

How are you feeling?
