October 2017 mummies :-)

Ah, have a lovely day Amythomas, and enjoy hubby being home!

Well went to IKEA yesterday, took a van, and bought LOTS of stuff! We live a 90 min drive from our nearest ikea so we have to plan, but wasn't planning on spending quite so much, but seem to have most furniture now. Our daughter also benefitted as she has a new bunk bed with a play den thing underneath, and a table for her to do her colouring at, plus a big storage thing. Can't afford to eat for the rest of the month now, lol, but feel like we got a lot achieved...
X

Yay, Amy, have a lovely time with you hubby . Now you can start the shopping :D

Great Lea, look like you had a very productive day!

I went with my husband yesterday to look at prams and we have decided for the Icandy Strawberry one, in black colour ( sorry baby but your parents are ''black'' people ). It is on an average price and we decided not to spend too much on it, even if I am still crying for the Peach one . Today I plan on doing some shopping online as is easier that going into shops.

Almost Friday x

That's brilliant amy so exciting!
I need to go to ikea and get a little table and chairs for my little boy.
I had the worst nights sleep ever last night my little boy woke me up at 12am as his dummy was on the ground then I couldn't get back to sleep finally got back to sleep and the back of 3am I woke as I was having weird dreams and couldn't get back to sleep again and don't really feel I did sleep as then alarm went off at 5.30am it's my long day at work today :(

Bought the Chicco next to me yesterday and the Icandy Strawberry pram , I need to collect them tonight. Still cannot believe it is actually happening..

I am having a terrible headache from yesterday which did not go away and I feel rubbish. Done as well lots of mistakes at work as I feel so tired and can't concentrate properly. :(

How is everyone coping?

We've got the nursery all planned out in our heads and hubby is painting a wall in there on Sunday. And we're going to kiddicare tomorrow. Yay, things can be done. He got to feel the baby kicking too. x

I woke up this morning at 5am with horrendous cramp in both my legs, ouch! I jumped out of bed not realising it was in both my legs and fell straight to the floor, I'm absolutely fine but my OH was really confused waking to the bang and then seeing my head pop up beside the bed lol. I got leg cramps nearly every night with my son, not looking forward to this again grr.

Oh no, I hate cramps....really hope I don't get that, I've been getting restless legs which is irritating enough!

Baby had a quiet day yesterday, movement wise, but I didn't stop! I lyed in bed so tired, unable to move, thinking, just move so I know your there! Was so tired, couldn't even be bothered to go downstairs and use the doppler. But was awake and kicking this morning, so all good.
Off to an air show later so that should wake her up, lol!

I've been having a look at baby carriers. I have a second hand baby bjorn one, but may get a sling for when she is newborn. Think it will be so much easier for school runs and shopping! I loved my carrier last time, so hopefully will get lots of use out if it.
Xx

Oh no, digitalcity..Hope you won't get the cramps very often.

Lea glad your little one started being active again, probably she was just lazy :D My baby's favourite position seems to be on his tummy? I get so many pains down there, feel some pushing but luckily he rolls over when I move.
I have been looking at slings as well but I have no idea which one I will be buying.

I have just noticed crinckles90 in feb2018 and I rememberd her from our first trimester. I am so happy she got pregnant again .

Have a lovely weekend ladies xxx

Having another productive day today. Went to kiddicare and got a steriliser and monitor and some other bits and pieces. Chose our travel system too- going for the Joie Chrome DLX in the green colour and then their iGemm car seat. Frame and carrycot are on a 10-14 week delivery so thought we'd better go for it now. Chose the cot bed we want too, and hubby is now painting the nursery. Going with one wall grey and then the rest white, with white furniture. Going to get an orange blackout blind for some colour and some fox/woodland accessories.

Baby seems to be being a bit lazy at the mo, but I think that's partly because I've been really busy so not noticing it as much.

The cramp sounds horrible. I've only have one bout of it but I think its cos I stretched too far! xx

Amy sounds like you've got it all planned which is brilliant and sounds lovely :) nice to hear that OH is home too :)

We went to John Lewis and Mothercare yesterday. I have had my heart set on the Silver Cross Pioneer and the matching car seat. I walk a lot so I need something good quality that I can rely on and possibly use for 2nd baby, although the price did put me off :( one lady had posted in the Facebook group that she got an uberchild travel system for under £350. So I looked up the reviews and it seems brilliant. There's a 30 day return if you don't like it, 1 year warranty and reviews say it feels like a bugaboo!! Go onto the Uberchild website and take a look, sale ends on the 8th of June :)
We also chose our cotbed and mattress. Getting there slowly :) we won't buy until July at earliest.

Braxton hicks are still present and baby's movements are becoming stronger :) how's everyone's diets?

I've had no cramp, fingers crossed I can dodge that!

Yeah, we probably wont order the cot bed till he's back at the beginning of August as that's only on a 3-4 week wait and he'll be home for deliveries. Unless its on a massive deal before!

I've just laid down on the bed for a bit and baby is back moving about, so that's all good. I don't notice the BH much when I am busy and moving around, only really on the days where I am chilling a lot. Same with the movement.

I'm going to have a nose on the website. I feel like I know what I'm looking at now after trying loads earlier. I loved how light all the bits on our one was, and how easy it was to put up and down. Me and my OH were between 2, but he said I would be dealing with the hassle of it more and would need something light and easy for me. I'm getting excited now. Eek!x

As am I! I could go and test pushchairs and look at baby clothes everyday but OH isn't as keen! We're 100% going for the silver cross pioneer (yay!) And the Rachel cot bed from John Lewis with pocket springs mattress :) I look every day or so in clearance sales for items....I want to make sure we get good deals and don't over pay if we don't have to.

Olivia, I'm keen on the uberchild travel systems too - would like to see it first, but silly price, would be stupid not too. Unfortunately I'm one of these people who simply will not pay hundreds of pounds for a pram, when they all do the same job, lol! Xx

I've been looking on their Facebook page and I commented on the most recent post to ask how does the travel system withstand regular long walks. I had one reply, a lady saying she's had hers for 9 months and she's used it quite a bit and it's fine. But I'm still unsure as we cannot see them before we buy. I think it's a personal choice for whatever suits your needs and feels right. There's a huge craze over the brand Bugaboo....I tested the models on display in John Lewis and Mothercare and I really didn't like the feel of the Bugaboo. Silver Cross feels a lot more solid and better quality in my opinion. Although I really am put off by how expensive they are :( second hand isn't an option and I'd prefer new for my first child. I may order the uberchild just to put it up at home and see how it feels....if we don't like it then we will return....I'll keep you updated!!!

Morning ladies.
Difficult decision regarding buggies. I had to go and try some out as a key thing for me was the weight and ease of putting it up and down. Its so difficult when you see a good deal online but cant try it out. But if you can return it then maybe that is the way forward?
22 weeks today, and I have my private scan at 1000 so I'm very excited for my hubby to be able to see, and for them to confirm its a girl (hubby keeps joking that it might have grown a penis in the last 3 weeks!) xx

Morning all,

Just caught up after my long weekend away, been a hectic one! But got loads done! We bought the Silver Cross Wayfarer (I think I might have already said this??) it is arriving the end of June, can I ask a question though, is anyone superstitious? I know the old superstition on having the pram in the house before the baby comes and just wondered if anyone else heard it? I am currently storing my friends pram (she is due in July) as she won't have it in her house!

Been feeling loads of movement and felt him do a full on turn the other day, could see it when I was lying down too so the kids all had a feel and poke lol made my tummy turn a bit, like a rollercoaster feeling?? Was lovely though :)

Wish I could have a little window though and see his face and body and know all looks ok, 10 fingers and toes etc... x

Back off holiday finally!

Regarding buggies, I am definitely going for the icandy now, changed my mind from the quinny. Bit more expensive but I love the design.

Holiday was a nightmare (it was amazing), but it was so hot in france my ankles swelled up so bad. I could hardly walk and it was really getting me down. I just have such bad problems with my feet at the moment!!

20 week scan today (even though 21 weeks) so will confirm the gender again and fingers crossed everything is okay!!

How is everyone else getting on?

Yes, keep me updated Olivia, I think I will risk it too, can always send it back, but most people seem to give rave reviews!

Well, just been on the phone to the midwife, we dtd last night, obviously a bit enthusiastically, as I have had brown spotting this morning. There was a fair amount after my morning wee, and now it's only there if I have a proper inspection with a tissue! I phoned the mw office and she said she is not worried, as I dont have any pain or cramps, and brown blood is old blood, so it's not something that is happening now. I keep checking on the Doppler and can hear heartbeat. Couldn't feel a lot of movement, so just drunk orange juice and ate crisps and I felt some kicks.
I have to call back if any worse and they will check my cervix.
Ive worked myself up now, im 23 weeks tomorrow, so it's just my luck if something will go wrong, it will be now...
I've put a pad on, and going to keep my mind off it, and try and stop checking every 5 mins!
X

Just had the scan and all is still good. They confirmed it is definitely a girl, but we have got in to the habit of calling her baby Dave! As we don't want to share name ideas with anyone until she's born we're going to stick with refering to her as baby Dave. She spent a lot of time asleep, snuggled up and yawning. But she did like having her legs up by her head. OH says she can get out of that habit!

Lea- I'm sure everything is absolutely fine and it might just be a slight irritation from dtd. We haven't dtd since he's been home. I feel a bit bad about it as its been months, but I've just not been in the mood.

I've heard the superstition. When my sis had her boy my mum kept the pram in her garage. I think I will probably keep ours in the garage just to save having it in the house and in the way, but still easily accessible. x
