October 2017 mummies :-)

I'm taking gaviscon advanced for heartburn, it's not the 'double action' one, they keep the advanced behind the counter in pharmacies. I find any heartburn tablets or chewables absolutely useless. When it got really bad last time my gp prescribed me ranitidine x

Hey ladies just catching up
Baby has been quiet the last few days but then when it does move it's lasting longer. I was worried but then u get a relief when u feel movements. I don't get heart burn and didn't with first.
How's everyone's cravings I am sick of going into marks and Spencer's and buying all the chocolate milk off the shelves and getting funny looks lol

I've been wanting cake, which is odd for me as I am usually a savoury person. Went to tescos with OH last night and had to buy a 12 pack of party cupcakes! They were amazing. Dave liked them too as she was dancing away with the sugar!x

Hey ladies, how is everyone doing?

I've been quite good at bump pics, I've done one every week since 15 weeks. Might do a special one for 24 weeks next week and allow my face to be in it, lol!

I'm with everyone on the movement changes, it's so worrying when you don't feel them move when you are expecting it...is it up to 32 weeks they get more each day and then stay at that level??

Booked a mothercare expectant parent event next week - even though I've done it before, my hubby hasn't, and I don't think he has ever stepped foot in a mothercare - will be a shock for him!

Nursery is oooking good, got cot bed, changing table, drawers and storage all assembled now...but panicked that people actually give birth at 24 weeks - obviously fingers crossed that doesn't happen, need to cook a lot more please!
X

Whats a mother care event? I went and got my bounty pack etc I had had the leaflets in my hand bag since March so they were fairly crushed but they still gave me the freebies lol!

We put up the curtains and blinds in the nursery and I managed to get rid of some stuff (had 9 extra mirrors from moving two houses into one, I have no idea why we had so many mirrors as I hate looking in them lol!!!)

I always said that at 24 weeks I would start to relax as a pregnancy is viable from that point, but it terrifies me that if something happened how the baby would be? I keep having horrible dreams that the baby is deformed etc it wakes me in sweats and then i dont want to go back to sleep so am exhausted!

Does anyone else get a pressure down below (without sounding gross it feels like I need a number 2 but don't and then it passes??), he has been moving less, not sure if that is because there is less room but I wish he would kick and hit me all the time so I know it is all ok? x

Lea what is the parent event like? I've booked one for the 2nd of July and I'm wondering what can we expect?

Flick I can relate to the strange pressure/ urge to go then it passes! I also get menstrual feeling cramps for a few minutes that then pass, pressure build ups and my whole belly goes rock hard! I've put it all down to BH! Got my midwife appointment tomorrow so I will discuss it and see what she says :)

24 weeks tomorrow! Going quick guys!! Our thread has been really quiet recently :( I've been getting quiet days (movement wise) and other days when baby won't stop kicking and wriggling! I'm going on a flight on Saturday and I'm intrigued to see baby's reaction to it! Last time we went on a flight I was around 17 weeks and I felt 1 slight movement.

I hope everyone is well and enjoying our pregnancies :)

23 weeks today, yay. Been doing some more sorting of the nursery today. Got the chest of drawers so that's been built and is now full off stuff. Going to get OH to measure the window so I can order blackout blind and curtain in a few weeks. It feels like we're getting a lot sorted early but when OH goes away Wednesday he wont be back til I'm 30-31 weeks. I got him to get the Moses basket in from the garage so it could air and I could wash all the bedding bits.

I'm the same with the pressure and having uncomfortable times, but assume its linked to BH. Sometimes I get really odd pointy 'corners' to my belly. Baby bump is definitely here and prominent but I'm a bit worried about weight gain. I don't want to sound like an idiot but I'm worried I'm not gaining enough. I've always been small (really annoying when people assume you don't eat properly and must starve yourself). Dr weighed me at the beginning and I was 52kg, I got on the scales this morning and OH said it was between 54-56kg. I'm not sure how accurate my scales are or if this is enough. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to have to lose loads of weight, and I'm not hungry, but I want to make sure I'm doing best for the baby. I suppose I should just wait to see what my midwife says at my next appt in 2 weeks.
Does this all seem normal to you guys?x

Amy that seems perfectly normal to me, I'm about the same weight and i've had the same weight gain and it's actually a lot more than my last pregnancy. In my last I only gained 11bs overall and my son was 8lbs 6 of that! My midwife always tells me not to worry as long as I'm eating as best I can the baby will take what it needs.

I've bought lots this week, just my pushchair and clothes left to get now so feeling pretty good and relaxed about things :) The only issue I have is my back and pelvis atm, my lower back is awful after laying down for a few hours so I'm waking every 20 minutes trying to change position, I've got a number for physio from the midwife so hopefully they can help. X

Thanks for that Digital, feeling reassured now.
Sorry to hear about the back and pelvis pain, I hope the physio helps x

Ah, I didnt word that very well - I haven't been to a mothercare event before, but I've done the whole birth/feeding thing before! I'm not sure I will learn anything from it, but hubby seems to think we have nearly everything, hmm, he is in for a wake up call....

Digital city, I see a really good physio, I just pay to see her privately coz I can't be bothered to wait, and she is amazing! She said a lot of physios don't like to put lots of pressure on when you are expecting, but as long as you are in the right poisition, it's fine. I said for her to be as brutal as normal, I love it, despite the pain!

24 weeks today! Happy V day for the other 3rd October mummies (think there's 3 of us...). I'm so happy to get to this milestone, may even upload a Facebook picture as I've hidden away since we've announced. Hmm, now what can I worry about now - oh yes, reduced movement and going into early labour should keep me going, lol!
I've still got my period and ovulation tracker on my phone, been too scared to delete it. I deleted it when pregnant with my ectopic, and when I had to re start it all, it had lost my data. I always said I would keep it on there until 24 weeks, just in case we needed to TTC!

Weight wise, I've put on a stone...I think that's fairly ok for me, put on 2 with my daughter, so another stone to go. Off swimming today, going once a week to try and relax me and get some gentle exercise.
Xxx

Morning all,

Yeah I am 11lb heavier so far and I was worried about it but I checked on a webpage and it says at this point (for my weight and height) the 'normal' weight gain is between 10 and 17lb so am seeing it as a bonus is=t is the lower end of the scale, although I needed to lose weight before I was pregnant so it is all just adding onto the amount I have to lose after!

24 weeks tomorrow! I feel like that was my first milestone to get to? Sounds silly I know but it was the one whereby a baby 'could' survive if born prem, so am really happy to get there! I have felt less kicking and more complete movement, at night about 10pm it is like he moves his whole body, does anyone else get that where it goes rock hard in a place as he moves across, a bit like a rollercoaster sensation (where your tummy flips if you know what I mean??)

It has gone really quiet on here lately, I hope all are ok and enjoying pregnancy (as much as we can outside of the constant worry!!) xx

Morning ladies. Happy V day yesterday for those who got there. I can't wait for mine next Monday. Thanks for all the weight reassurance stuff. I'll discuss it with the MW when I see her in a few weeks, but i am eating more and healthy (in between the cakes!), just shows our bodies are all different.

I feel like i get more bursts of movement and then she's quite for a good few hours. Last night i had one of those full tummy movement things. I told my hubby i thought my tummy had done a Mexican wave! Only 2 more days with hubby until he's off again, but i am sure the next 7 weeks will fly, then when he's back I'll be 31weeks, crazy to think.

Hope everyone has a great day and is feeling good x

I'm working on it being viability day. If you have baby early from 24 weeks its not classed as a miscarriage, the chances of survival are higher and docs have more resources (or allowed, I'm not sure)to help baby. Can be seen as a big milestone x

Ah ok, thats ok then, so when I was saying that my first milestone was 24 weeks, that is my V day lol get it now thanks x

Hello ladies I feel like I have put on loads and I haven't stepped on the scales as I was doing slimming world at the start but when I was so ill being sick constantly I stopped going.
I have my midwife appointment tomorrow so will see if I get told to go on scales. It's my new midwife who I have seen once as my first one retired. I think tomorrow I will get told about the anti d injection as sure I will need to get that soon?
I went to the Mothercare baby event thing and the lady went over the different stages of car seats then they had different tables for feeding both Breast and bottle and the had different companies come in so we signed up for swimming lessons and also for a first aid course which was mainly aimed at first aid in babies/ children x

I won't lie...I've been useless with the bump pictures and pregnancy journal :( I always thought I'd document everything and I intended to....life got in the way :( hope we're not the only ones!

Has anyone found something apart from gav is considered that helps with heartburn???

Not alone! I thought just the same, but I'm not as cool or organized as those who takes bump pics every week and keep a neat journal. I've taken four pics by now (I'm 20+5) and I'm only just begun to write.
I have some notes (like the day we got the bfp, the day we told our parents and so on), so I'm gonna write from those.

Morning all!

24 weeks today and finally my OH managed to see the little man having a disco moving around in there last night :) I have also just been told I have a gorgeous bump and that I haven't put on weight anywhere else am just all bump (they haven't seen me naked lol) so am feeling all happy today, helps with the little man beating me up from inside and the sun shining outside :) x

Hey ladies!!! I'm on a proper salad hype at the moment!!! Eating tons of it!

Ladies that have hit 24 weeks, I have been told we are now 6 months pregnant? I keep trying to figure it out but finding the whole weeks/months thing confusing! But anywho.....6 months :D yay!

I weighed 10st when I got bfp....I'm now over 11st but I'm not too bothered as I know once baby is born we can lose it. My OH has been putting weight on since bfp too haha

I went for a walk to the local post office to collect something...it's about 30min walk each way...I have caught the sun! Pregnancy has made my skin auuuuper sensitive to the sun!

Hope the ladies that have been quiet are ok :) xxx

Can you send some salad hype my way please. All I've wanted is cake and chips. Although now its warmer fruit seems an attractive option....but ice-cream sneaks in!

I'm loving the sun but the lack of breeze is making being out in it difficult. I also cant be bothered to think what to wear in the warm weather. I don't want to stretch out all my old maxi dresses but camt be bothered to go shopping. I'm back in work tomorrow so that will make it extra hard.

That all sounds like I'm on a bit of a downer. I'm not, honestly. My OHs return flight has been messed up so he's now home until Saturday afternoon, yay! I've got to go back to work tomorrow, but told him it means he is in charge of dinner, housework, ec for the next 2 days. I know he'll do it all as well, he's been great these last 2 weeks and feels bad he's going away again.

The thought of 24 weeks and 6 months seems crazy. I cant wait xx
