So yesterday I had my bloods back from the midwife, they said I have a rhesus blood type, anyone else got this? Have to have an injection at 28 weeks in case my blood mixes with the baby.

Oh no :( Sorry about that.. I am always thinking that I feel so tired all the time , I wonder how can all mammas cope being pregnant and having little ones around to take care of ..

Jojo, I will probably join the Facebook group but a little bit later as is not public yet that I am pregnant

Now that I remember, my midwife asked me if I want a test for Down Syndrome at my 12 week scan , she said it is a non-invasive procedure but I am not quite sure if is not too early? Is anyone doing it?

There are people sat in the same train carriage as me eating McDonalds. I wasn't hungry. Now I want to kill them and steal their chips.

I decided to go for the triple check as I thought I'd rather know. Esp as the first test has no risk. I googled the syndromes they test for and would not recommend it with an image search as some are quite upsetting. While a disability wouldn't change my love for the baby some of the conditions are really life limiting. However its everyone's individual choice, and not all tests can be 100% accurate. I recommend reading up on what the tests mean and then making the decision based on you and your families thoughts, views/beliefs.

Hello to all the new people, great to hear from you and congratulations

I opted for the testing in my first pregnancy and will most likely be having it again just because I would like to be prepared to support a baby with any disability. They just take some measurements and then combine it with your blood results and then let you know what risk there is of you having a baby with one of the conditions they look for, I think my risk was 1 in 800 last time so low risk :)

Thank you, I will opt for the test then.

AmyThomas, you sound like me :)) Yesterday night I was craving McDonalds and asked my OH to buy me some French fries. Guess what, it was not open and I got so angry , don't know what is happening. Today is Women's Day in my home country and we will go out for dinner. Said I want nothing but burger and chips ! I should really put some limits ...

Hey I found out with my last pregnancy I am rhesus negative so have to have the extra injections u get one just after birth also.
Ppl did warn me it was sore but I didn't find it any different from any other injections x

I am going to get the bloods done for Down syndrome at the 12 week scan and take things from that. I did this with my son and the numbers came back low so all was fine. I think I would like to be prepared and if it did come back as a high chance the midwife told me the next step u could take would be a needle going into belly straight into the womb which could cause mc so would you want to do that and put baby at risk or just prepare yourself if your baby was Down syndrome ?

I am struggling today looking after a 2 year old and being so tired.....

Had to chase again as still not had anything from midwife apparently she has my referral and I should hear from her any day and definitely by the end of the week as I'm already over 9 weeks!

Got to change my shifts at work so that's going to mess up our whole family routine hopefully they will be nice and flexible as still need to work around the toddler!

Hope everyone is well xx

Vickilou25 I hope u hear from ur midwife soon maybe it's a good thing as hopefully u won't have long to then inbetween appointment and scan.
How come your having to change shifts?

I work deliverys and our area manager isn't happy with me doing them now that I'm pregnant because of the risk, which is annoying as I currently work 6-10am then have my son the rest of the day, so no idea what they are going to give me now x

Oh hope they give u something that can work with your family x
I have just been to slimming world and have put on 2lbs in two weeks. I am surprised it wasn't more with all the rubbish food I have been eating to try stop me feeling sick x

Hey ladies.

Hope everyone is well! I'm currently in the bath after a long day in the west end! Tired is an understatement and today my nipples have become mega itchy  I have no idea where it came from but it's annoying!

How long does it take to get blood test results from booking appointment?

Thanks for the reassurance :-) I'm not worried about having an injection, just want to make sure the baby is okay.

I actually had mine back the next day, my ankles are swollen today!! Can't believe it! Mega itchy skin still all over. Must be frustrating on the nipples but I guess this is normal. Good luck with the bloods.

When I found out the last time and I was told I did come away from that appointment very upset and worried as I was thinking the worst but see when I read the information leaflet and spoke to others about it it's surprising how many ppl I knew that are also rhesus negative and all is fine x
