.. October 2016 Mummies - Second Trimester ..

I've seen the midwife this morning. Heard the heartbeat so it's put my mind at rest. Was worried that there was going to be no heartbeat and that's why there had been no movement but baby kept moving away from doppler so I'm feeling much better now xx

Fab news! Great to hear hunny! xx

Oh congrats on OHs job Sarah, thats great news.

I feel a bit put out not having like mw care, if ive any issues ive to go to gp i dont have a mw or even a no. To call there was anything up. Maybe in late pregnancy itll be different but just feel a bit abandoned haha! Think im just over emotional atm. Im crying constantly. Having a tough time at work, with family and at home, just no break atm :(. Also haven't felt baby move on a few days. I know its still early for patterns etc but i was feeling baby move daily. I know im lucky to have felt it early but nowim in a panic. Almost three weeks to go until scan, its gonna drag in :(

I'm glad I don't see my mw a lot she seems a bit crazy and pulls stupid faces, I don't really like her lol but no well we only got one mw in the gp so I guess I'm stuck with her! x

Does anyone else worry about money? I got paid last weekend, and had £400 savings on top of my wage which has just came in. I know it wasn't much but that was my money for her! Over the past week I have been doing all my food shopping, buying clothes online and what not but my car insurance and phone bill were higher this month and we pay our first months rent in the new house this month which is £500 I now have £250 for the next 3 weeks and all my savings are gone! I just feel so upset! Other half has about £1500 savings but I don't want him to feel he has to pay for everything, I'm just gutted :( xxx

I know how you feel hunny. Money is definitely a topic on my mind at the moment as me and my partner are moving in to our new house 14 days before my due date and we need all new bedroom furniture and some decorating to be done, not to mention the last bits of baby stuff! (now I'm starting to thank myself for buying so much so early on lol!)

Too be honest, at least you had savings for you to be able to afford all of your outgoings, a lot of people don't have savings and have to rely on borrowing money and paying people back, you don't have this worry by the looks of it! So although it's disheartening that your savings are gone, just think - you didn't waste it and went to a good cause! It was stuff that you and baby NEED. You can always build your savings back up again as well. :) It's obviously just a tricky month for you, but money comes and goes!

You and you're partner are a unit though and I'm sure he'll get the jest and help you out :)

Thankyou Hun! He keeps saying to me I don't know why your worried because we have all my savings, and he totally understands that all my money has went to baby clothes, sterilisers, bottles. You name it I've went away and got it haha! So we have everything and more for her. I just worry about when she is here! All her bedroom furniture is paid for and ordered, and my pram is being paid off. I'm just scared of everything after. I know we don't struggle though so that's what keeps me going, I'm happy and have everything I need, but can't help but worry! Hope you manage to have all yours sorted too. It's such a happy and exiting time but it comes with a huge amount of stress! Xxx

Of course hun, even when there's nothing to worry about, you'll always find something! ;) we all fall victim to this!

This may seem hugely stereotypical, but I think it's more of a maternal instinct to buy all the clothes, bottles, sterilisers etc for our babies! I don't know one dad-to-be to actively go out and buy those kind of things (not that there's not someone out there!) so I think it's usually us women who go out and get the day to day stuff! Your OH can clearly see that and that's probably why he doesn't want you to worry cos he has the other things covered! You're there to help each other out, and lets face it, you've helped him out by spending your money on the bottles, clothes etc which means he doesn't have to! So let him return the favour :)

It sounds like you have everything under control hun, you're probably more prepared and organised than a lot of us mummies to be lol! You're doing great :)

Oh my gosh so organised, i have nothing in at all, simply can't afford it. Mum is buying my pram abd everything else im gonna just look out for sales. Ive no savings atm (all went on an eye op i had to get:() so trying to get working extra shifts to save if i can cope. Im more worried about being off on mat leave, we barely will have bills covered with my wage gone nevermind nappies, clothes, food lol. Im the eldest grandchild on both sides of my very large family and first to have a baby so kinda know ill be okay for buying vaby things, my family will go nuts. Both my grandmothers have knitted enough mint coloured things to last baby until its a toddler lol.

Its kinda different for us this time round because I work double what I do I'd do when I first had a baby. I only works part time but then now working full-time incurrs childcare costs...

We also had everything bought for us more or less although most I gave away, this time Ill nowhere near need as much and won't buy as much as I did before because I'll know what I will use. My mums buying my pram again but she offered. I was quite happy to get everything I need as it's my second.

Its hard going but last time I had no savings, we both worked part time and somehow we managed just fine so it's hard not to worry but try not to as it usually works out. I don't know a huge amount of folk but was actually overwhelmed with how much we were gifted. Nearer the end people ask what you need rather than to get a doubler present.

Had a antenatal information session last night. Just loads of people giving talks and info leaflets etc. There were car seat fitting specialists, a breastfeeding support network, physio and midwife. Was quite good although very long and the room was freezing. Lol. Was just for first time parents.

So I wont see midwife in late pregnancy either, see a mw for scans only then GP whole way through until 40 weeks! Only high risk or multiples are guaranteed to see a midwife which obviously is a given, postcode lottery otherwise it seems. Not what I expected at all. Im sure my GP has had special training and years of experience dealing with just pregnant women...ha! Im not undermining the GP not at all but they are so broad in their training they are stretched thin. Not as stretched as mw services apparently. Ah well. Guess ill just be annoying you ladies more lol.

Have to get another scan when I'm 23weeks as they couldn't get a good measurements of the heart, they did say that the heart looked normal however as my partners side has family history of heart problems they want to be extra sure, so at least I get to see baby again x
