Nightfeeds Chat Thread

Agreed as you just drop off and they make a crazy sound! !

Thanks for all the sympathy ladies.. Was not a great night.. He went back down at 2:30, then was up again at 5, then again at 7! I'm very very tired today.. I know that's still not bad compared to the beginning, but after 4 months of no sleep (not inc pregnancy non sleeps!) i need all I can get! He's been a little off his milk today and rather sleepy so I'm hoping it's just some kind of leap and will pass. He's so lucky he's cute!! Xxx

Good morning ladies! Quiet on here today - hope that's a good sign :-)
Were up for feed 1 an hour earlier then normal but that's fine as she's slept like an angel since 8pm, especially given she had a TT division today! Hopefully she will resettle now.
We've moved her in to size 3 pampers at night as her nappy was getting so full by the morning it was waking her up! So maybe it may help her sleep longer in the morning, who knows?

Seren slept 9-2, yay! I was a bit worried how tonight would go because we were home late so she was in bed much later than usual. It's worked to my advantage though because she's done her long stretch at a more convenient time for me. Fingers crossed she's not too sick after this feed and settles back for another decent stretch. Does anyone else have trouble with their LOs being sick at night? Seren is sicky all the time but its more of an issue at night because it disturbs her and she wakes up coughing and spluttering :-( xxx

Yep, Phoenix is sicky and has just puked everywhere... We've tried everything to help with the sickness... It's not reflux so no meds work... Aptamil comfort helped for a bit but now that's coming back up.... I do so much laundry and it makes it difficult to re settle her in the night as she is hungry again after being sick! How do you deal with it? I dread going out incase she is sick....

Hannah is being so noisy tonight! ! Usually don't hear a peep til 5am, gutted!! Am feedingv now praying she pipes down. Doubtful.

Oh no Bex, I feel your pain I don't know what is going on! He woke an hour after going to bed so oh just rocked him back again, then he was starting to moan at about midnight but he must have gone back again as I didn't go straight to him and then must have fallen back asleep. Now he woke properly just after 3 so still feeding. 9 till 3 isn't bad of course, but is still 2 hours less than before and also means he's likely to wake again around 5 again anyway! Xxx

Were up again, can't complain really! I'm going to try and put her down after this feed, see if she will sleep again, but I'm not too hopeful.

Was Hannah any quieter after her feed bex?
Claire, did he wake again? Xx

Well Jack slept through from 10-630!!!!! Don't want to get too excited but it feels great!!!! Lol x

She was squirming and being crazy but not in pain, I put her in the basket and she was grinning at me! Monkey! Ended up putting her next to me as head on boob settled her down.
Awake again 6.30am so usual routine out the window! She's wide awake kicking in the basket now while I pump. Trying to feed an expressed bottle last feed to save my nipples as she goes wild at the end of cluster feeding.

Katie that is amazing!

Spin that first chunk of sleep was good! :) j is in size 3 now! Now his clothes don't fit

That's great Kelly!
Hannah is in her basket now kicking away and grinning. Has all the energy in the world! Maybe she'll nap soon and I can shower. It's going to be a long day as out from 10.30am so no chance of a nap for me. Visiting my bump buddy though :-)

I feel like I've tried everything too! I also don't think Seren's is reflux because it doesn't seem to bother her apart from obviously making her choke a bit when she's laying down. We've tried gaviscon which helped for a bit but makes no difference anymore. She's bf so I don't have the option of changing her milk. When I asked the HV for advice she just said 'hmm bf babies aren't normally sicky'. Um well very helpful thanks! I've tried all the keeping her upright after feeds etc but it doesn't help at all. She's still sick when upright and can be sick ages after a feed.

When we go out I take about three outfit changes! And plenty of muslins. At night I tuck a muslin in over the mattress under her head to avoid having to change her whole sheet every time she's sick. I also keep a stash of spare clothes next to my bed at night so I don't have to get up if she needs changing. And again plenty of muslins! I'm convinced she'd sleep much better if it wasn't for the sickness. It's nearly always being sick that wakes her in the second part of the night xxx
