Nightfeeds Chat Thread

Harrison slept from 9.30-1 then 2-6, then 6.30-7.30, so happy mummy today! Second night in a row he's done this, really hoping this is a new routine! But worried about going away this weekend messing it upon.

As for length of feeds, up until 2 weeks ago Harrison was feeding for about 45minutes on one side, now he feeds for about 15minutes still on one side. Occasionally he may want both boobs but very rarely. I have to be careful feeding from both sides though as it can very quickly lead to oversupply for me!

Wow ammdaz that's so good for a newborn! Bodes well for the next couple of months hopefully!

I am sooo tired, trying to wake myself up on here so that I will get up. After my last post M didnt settle back in his own cot until 6.. Then it took me ages to drop off! Got to wake the poor mite up now to feed again then do school run. Urggh is it the weekend yet? Xxx

I know Claire, I couldn't believe it! Especially as DS was a terrible sleeper bless him and I'd be lucky to get an hour in his newborn days. Xxx

Ah there u go then u had your bad luck already... My first was a terrible sleeper and in general M is much better so I too saw it as I'd already had my 'turn' haha xxx

Hannah did 12-4am then 5-9 with a little feed break when daddy got up. Amazing!!
Had to co sleep though!!

You got to do whatever works bex. Pick your battles I say!

We co-slept on a couple of occasions when he was teeny, he's much better at going in hid crib now, but I still bring him into bed with me for morning snuggles sometimes :) x

Another epic nap from Harrison today, been asleep 2 hours already :/, these naps are making me feel a bit lost! But I'm so glad he's sleeping better. He already seems less grumpy after 2 nights of good sleep x

Ok ladies wish me luck. Doing something totally different today.
1.she's in her own room. (still in her own basket though)
2. She's had a bottle not boob (expressed)
3.she's got a dummy!
4.put her to bed much earlier then normal (usually about 10-11 ish and it takes her an hour or two to settle)
5.I've put her down awake!

I could be in for a long night!

But so far she's not cried...

Hubby away so I thought I'd take advantage!

Xx

Thanks both.
Bex, Hannah loves her food doesn't she!

I'm just pumping off the night feed. Then to bed!

Hoping neighbours will behave tonight, the nursery is next to the balcony where their front door is and where they stand and smoke. I've already had to ask them to keep the noise down once tonight!

Eurgh I hate noisy neighbours!!!

Hannah loves her food, not sure where she gets it from.......;-)

She's still going....xx

Have only just managed to get Aurelia back off to sleep she woke up at 8pm and fed for an hour had a nappy change and a staring contest with daddy and then back on the breast for another 30 minutes...I feel like my boobs are prunes giving the rate she is sucking atm...I'm hoping she has a decent sleep as mummy needs food and sleep myself x x x

My nipples are hurting even with shields... Hannah is still going.... It's making me sweaty!
Hope you have a good night tabbi xx

Oh dear, sounds like sore boobies for a few of you.
E seems to have added a midnight feed to her repertoire. Not sure where it's come from but I don't like it. I at least used to get a decent block of sleep in. I hope she starts improving in a few weeks when this 4th leap is over.

Hope things are going well for you spin.

Wow bex, Hannah really is making up for being so diddy with all that feeding!

I've just had to wake Seren up to feed her, she'd been asleep for 5 hours from 7.30 to 12.30! Just having snuggles now before I try putting her back down, hoping for another decent stretch but not quite that long again because mummy gets worried!

Xxx

Hi ladies, sore boobies are the worst! But it does get better and they eventually toughen up!

Well tonight the oh is not well, he has a fever and bad tummy. All night he has kept me awake with his tossing and turning, drinking, going to the toilet.. The only thing keeping me going was that baby hadn't woken up, so after what felt like hours and hours, baby wakes. I look at the time expecting a 4/5am... It's 1:50!!! Christ this is gonna be a looong night! I know it's not his fault he's ill but it's so annoying! Our bedroom door is a but squeaky, and everytime he gets up he opens it and shuts it, then comes back and opens it and shuts it.. That's 4 lots of squeaky door every time - JUST LEAVE IT OPEN!! Plus rather than bring a glass of water to bed like a normal person, he's brought a sports flask, u know the ones that you have to suck? So everytime he has a drink it's so noisy! I can't shout at him coz it's mean so I've just been laying there getting woken up and fuming!!! Sorry rant over... MEN! Xxx

Lol Claire. I do feel for you but was pretty funny reading that about the sucking flask and squeaky door! :-p

J up for first feed. Went 5 hours tonight! Xx

Oh my god!!! Harrison has just woke up!!

He slept from 9-3.30, and I slept from 11-3.30 that's the LONGEST either of us have slept since he was born!!

I actually had a mini panic when I saw the time x

Wow Kelly 5h that's fab!
I've just finished first feed. I'm still getting used to this bottle stuff. Gave her 120ml and she cried at the end so I assume that means more pls mummy! So she had another 40ml.

Just sat down to express and she's just started grizzling :-(
