Ok i dont know if any of yous get these!!

All it is is a nhs card that entitles you to all free health care and costs.
its called PPA ( prescription pricing authority )
Its all done through the inland revenue if you recieve any tax credits.

It entitles you and your Family to
free nhs prescriptions
free nhs dental treatment
free nhs sight test
the FULL value of a voucher towards the cost of glasses OR contact lenses
free nhs wigs and fabric support
help with travel to recieve nhs treatment under the care of a consultant.


If you have already paid NHS charges and wish to make a claim you can claim back charges for all of the above.

so did i sarah, though the problem i have is because its paid straight into the bank we dont actually have any written proof that we are getting it and they wont except a bank statment as proof its not so much of a problem at the moment coz i have my maternity exemption card but when that runs out next year i will have the same problems again.

im just reading through the site now im wondering if they send you a card like they do with maternity exemption cards to proove that you are entitled to it, would make life a lot easier

i didnt get a maternity exemption certificate with Adele i just got the nhs one sent out and with a forum for when shes one and both me and my partner have our own cards and that was us just got our new one sent through today they just update it by themselvs so u dont have to keep renewing it like tax credits.

bubble- do you not have an anual reward thing from tax credits showing you how much you should get each year? ours is paid into the bank but they send out a review annual tax forum stating how much has been paid how much have still to be paid.

worth making a call to them their offices are open 8 am - 6pm

iv never recieved one so far even everytime i have rang thema and asked them for a copy of it they tell me they have sent it but still never got it

they send us out 2 copies (a waste of paper) one for me and one for OH you should double check they have all the correct details for u just incase they have missed a number or something on your address.

im not entitiled to it either shame coz I need some new glasses!

 

I got a card and you do get a free sight test, but you don't get FULL money off glasses, and none off contacts lenses. I got £33.70 off my new glasses and am on working and child tax credits.

sami thast weird, i dont wear glasses but my OH does and he has had 3 pairs since Adele was born last year when hegot new ones it was anti glare coated ones and he got them free

but then again im sure he had to chose from a selection of freebie ones so its not really fancy ones but i like them and he sutes them too i guess it just depends really

i just copied all the info of the letter wegot with the cards

 

I don't know then hun, I think I get free lenses for the glasses, but not the frame unless you chose an NHS frame. Although my optitions had granny style NHS female frames!

Might just be my stingy optitions!

my oh always gpes to optical express i went their to as i seen really nice oval shaped ones and they suited me but they wouldnt give me them cos i didnt need them i was well upset lol
