Lulu, please can I have your recipe for chicken and asparagus pasta? :)

Fusili pasta (about half a small/standard pack)
Bunch of asparagus, chopped into 3 bits
2x cans of condensed mushroom soup (I didn't actually check the salt content of these, so you may want to. But as long as you're not giving really salty things every day I'm sure it's fine?)
About 250ml milk
Diced/sliced chicken (375g)
Grated cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to Gas 6. Cook pasta, and add the asparagus to the water for the last 3 mins. Drain. Heat the soup and milk, then stir in the asparagus and pasta.

Fry the chicken until cooked through. Add to the pasta and put in an ovenproof dish. Top with as much grated cheese as you like and bake for about 10mins until browned on top.

:)

Thanks lulu - sounds yum will have to try that!

I agree with the salty thing - I find of I give him food in a restaurant of we eat out I know it's prob saltier than what I'd cook at home, but I use undated butter and never add salt to anything I cook for
Him x

Gave Arthur tomato pasta and meatballs last night. He was so funny, he was getting frustrated he couldn't shovel it in fast enough! X

How do babies know to do the opposite of what you say they do lol. Holly has taken great to blw and is definitely eating bits as I found out to my shock when she was weighed yesterday! Anyway, hv said to drop her last bottle so we did and she slept through for 12 hours but this morning she wouldn't eat her breakfast just played with it! Typical!

Don't worry - I used to get all panicky when Arthur played with food as he has always been a pretty good eater. He went a day once just playing, didn't eat anythig. I was stressy, tried to put food in his mouth. But he was back to normaldayside few days - I guess they just have days where they'd rather not eat! With I did - my jeans may fit a little better!!!

hi guys, has anyone got any tips for giving mushrooms? she doesn't have any teeth and i think they might be quite difficult to gum bits off?

Guns are surprisingly hard! I just fried them slowly and then let him at them. He seemed to quite enjoy them!!

I don't think I belong in this thread anymore - I've moved Poppy on to purees. We had a couple of horrible choking scares , plus there was a tasting session at her sensory world group and she absolutely loved all the purees, which made me feel that perhaps we should just throw the towel in and go with traditional weaning. I'll continue to give her finger foods that I feel comfortable with, but I can't really call myself a true BLW-er! After so much time spent wondering if BLW was for us, we've given it a good go, and really thought it was for her up until very recently. But now, I just don't think it is. I've moved her straight to lumpy/textured purees rather than smooth, as she's used to handling food in her mouth, and she's getting on brilliantly.

So good luck you lovely ladies, hope it all goes well for you. xx

hun i know exactly how you feel, as i've had/done exactly the same!!! Flynn loves feeding himself but gets really upset when its not something he can manage to eat quickly, but we're going to continue to offer him finger foods and just slowly add harder things fir him to try! been meaning to post about it but not had a chance and then our laptop broke!

hope everyone else is getting on well xx

Hey ladies

We're starting BLW next week....very excited! Am going shopping on Friday to buy feeding paraphernalia i.e. floor covering, bibs, beaker etc............ :yay:

Anyway, I was wondering which meal you started LO with? Breakfast, Lunch or Tea? Then how long did you wait before introducing a second meal?

Many thanks xx

Hey smith

I think I started with lunch, but I went to 3 meals pretty much straight away - as they don't eat a huge amount at first, there's no harm. Plus I found it to be a good time waster! X

Good luck! x

Fab thanks hun! That's a good idea as I'm sure she gets bored doing the same stuff every day so trying her with different foods will keep things interesting :) thank you xx

Awww so sweet!

Just take heart from the fact choking is very rare. Gagging is a natural reflux when something bigger than we are used to goes to the back of our throat (wink wink, nudge nudge!!!) :)
