~*NEW*~ 37weeks + Labour signs, advise and hugs thread

Having lots of irregular BH so maybe it wont be too long, no more pant snot, hjad a bit ofpain again today could feel it right inside my foo, it was horrible. I think im gonna get my ball out and hop round the house in a bit :cheer:

Back from our curry - decided just to have the one I like (dansak) so not too hot but it was lovely to be out with friends anyway :D Got backache this evening but think it is because I have had to sit in a really upright chair all night. :D

Good luck ladies - are we placing bets on Mel or dtaylor????

afternoon ladies!!

how are we all?? no much from me, a few period crampy things here and there but thats it....nowt to get excited about! :D OH thinks baby will come this week, but I think thats just his wishful thinking as his work is p*** at the mo and wants off on paternity leave!!

on the betting stakes... Im gonna say mel to go first,....but think D will be close behind!!! :cheer:

afternoon Lisa. I agree with you, I think Mel will be 1st. I'm sure I'll be last out of everyone thats posting at the mo. ROM & I have the same due date but I think I will go at least a week over.

I still can't decided if I'm losing my plug, but even if I am its not happening quickly. I did get this wierd pain in my back last night & it went right round to the bump. But it only happened once   .

How much paternity leave does your OH get?? My dh is self employed so he won't be able to take any time off. He'll be there for the labour then its back to work. Sometimes wish he had a normal job.

hey there

thats strange about the pain you had......maybe it was baby settling down into your pelvis more? I've only had about 2 or 3 cramps in a row..... enough to get me excited and then nothing!! body playing tricks on us!

my OH gets 2 weeks paternity, but paid at the standard rate that I'll get (the £117 a week) so he's opted to take 2 weeks holiday instead since he had plenty to roll over from last yr (theres no way we would survive if he had that paid for 2 weeks!). His company are fine with it too (to be honest they are VERY lax!!!!)

was up the town this morning, managed to get a pack of 10 bibs for £3 from asda george and 2 bags of muslin squares (3 for £3!!) cant have too many! :cheer: :cheer:

Thats really good that your OH's work are letting him take holidays. Didn't realise paternity was at the lower rate, don't feel like we're missing out on too much then.

I think maybe LO is a bit lower down, but its so hard to tell. I have another MW appointment on Thurs. Have you had your 38 week appt yet?? Wonder if it will be weekly appointments after that.

I got some of my muslin squares at Asda, they're really great. I got other ones at John Lewis but I've decided the Asda ones are better quality. Might take a trip there tomorrow to see if I can pick up some more.

Was going to go for a walk but its started snowing, oh well.

aww I've not had any snow!! :shakehead: OH text me from work (he's in edinburgh) saying it was snowing heavily!!

I think with the paternity leave it depends on the company, Ive head that some will give full pay, or near enough, but his is pretty crap that way! I'm just glad they agreed to the option of him taking holidays!

My appointments seem to fall at the end of the week, so for my 38wk I'll actually be 38 +5! Just seems to be how its worked out! So my next one is this friday! If babys head is still not engaged i'll be asking questions and may hint if I can book in for the following week (so will be 39 +5). Everytime I go they ask how far along I'm on and I say eg."36+5" but they dont seem to take that into account when they measure me and I come out measuring a week ahead i.e 37cm! Use yer brain woman!

I'm praying LO is engaged somewhat..... surely has to be, all the pressure i've been feeling and the fact it feels like a ball in my foof down there!!

OH is not convinced i'm fully engaged as I'm not "waddling"..... do you have to be waddling to be fully engaged?!?!?

Sure your LO will be engaged by now. If your feeling a lot of pressure then it must be down low. I just realised that I haven't had a kick in the ribs for ages so he must be a bit lower. Don't think you need to waddle. I've been waddling for months, and I think the head just engaged recently (if it has at all)

hmmm, i really dont feel too good :( feel so tight across the top of my bump and my back and almost bit sick.... mayb just got trapped wind...but i dont even want my dinner

on a plus note I think i lost some of my plug.....nice snot blob when after wiped! (hehe sorry TMI!)

Oooh Lisa, sounds like it could be starting...How exciting! Ill keep my fingers crossed. You should try having a bath if you feel well enough, they say thats a really good way to tell if its real labour, and if its not then it might stop the pains.

Aww melly first :( Nothing here ladies, i really dont feel like my body is ready to let this baby go anytime soon

Got tummypains again :wall: Just like before, also my pubic bone now clicks when i get out of bed and is so sore, can hardly walk too

Oh Mel  it cant be long now honey

Well girls I slept all night for the first time in ages :D reflexology rocks  Now I have to convince my friend to move in for the next week or two........ even the heavy feeling I had isnt to bad today - hopefully I can finish off all the bits I wanted to and get ready for Hannah coming home :D

I hope everyone else is OK this morning.

morning all! :D

nowt happening here, had a few more snotty wipes after being at the toilet and a bit of a sore back but thats been it. The tightening disappeared across the top of my bump after I had burped....lol

Still got a sore back this morning and had a few crampy tightenings but nothing exciting.... OH still convinced its going to be this week.... i'm not so sure!

If i'm honest I'm more interested in why the bin men have not emptied out bin!!! :rotfl:

no signs here

going to see the midwife today so i'll have to see what she says. he is engaged i'm just waiting for him to make an appearance.

Morning everyone! I'm up early today . Been sleeping till lunchtime recently.

Mel & dtaylor - I think something will start to happen for you both soon, you dont have long to go at all.

Lisa - sounds promising for you too. Shame the pains didn't turn out to be anything.

ROM - glad you got a good sleep, it must have made such a difference. I've been really swollen down there too, but its not sore it just feels horrible.

Nothing exciting for me to report. Been having crampy pains and a bit of a sore back, but thats all.

Me too dtaylor, due on thursday and got midwife appointment tomorrow morning when i will be having a sweep. Hope it's our turn soon, getting fed up waiting! xx

my midwife hasn't mentioned a sweep to me so far do you think she would do one today when i go see her even though she hasn't told me she's going to?
