I noticed yesterday evening harper had an ulcer on the tip of her tongue and this morning I think I can see some small ones towards the back of her tongue.

What can be causing it? Could it be teething as she's been suffering with teething lately.

Is there anything I can give her to help sooth them until I can see the GP on Monday? She's 13.5 months. Thanks x

My LO has only ever had them when he had hand foot and mouth, is she showing any other symptoms?

She's had a runny nose the past week. She's also had a nappy rash on and off for a few weeks now which I put down to teething. She didn't eat a thing yesterday, only wanted milk, and today she had about 2-3 mouthfuls of breakfast. X

She's also grumpy and crying a lot which again I put down to having a bit of a cold and teething. Could it be hand foot and mouth? What are the other symptoms? Xx

My LO had a bad nappy rash, the ulcers in his mouth, a temperature and just generally a grumpy so and so for a few days.

Hmm.. So it could be that maybe? It never really crossed my mind it would be that tbh. I will take her to the GP on Monday then but try get something to sooth her ulcers until then xx

I would say it's hand foot and mouth.....it should pass in a few days, she will just be a little irritable and off her food - calpol can help with the pain of the ulcers and temp if she has one and allow her to eat a little.

I have looked after 3 children with it and it never seemed too serious. hope she's better soon.
