The midwife/consultant part went really well. I got a sweep done so fingers crossed, however they said my cervix is starting to ripen so
. The trouble started when they checked babys heartbeat, they couldn't locate it with 3 different machines so off to Day Care Unit I went to be strapped into the monitor. They got the heartbeat and then 5 minutes after they left me her movements became frantic and the machine started screaming, 2 midwifes and a doctor ran in. Gave me the fright of my life, it didn't help when the doctor said 'there's no heartbeat!!'. I went into panic overload as they readjusted the monitors. Thankfully they relocated the heartbeat. I could have literally killed that doctor.
After being strapped up for an hour I got sent for a scan which was lovely, managed to actually see her heart valves working!! It was amazing!
It is hard to make out but she is sucking her thumb, it was so cute to see!
I am back at the hospital next Thursday and the consultant said they would probably induce me if nothing has happened by then. Despite that drama where I nearly had a flippin heart attack it was a good appointment.
