I had my doctors appointment today to confirm my pregnancy, she was very nice, and very pleased for me etc. But just told me to go to reception and ask for a pregnancy pack, and all the information I need will be in there. So I've read all the information about what will happen at what appointment with the midwife etc but it was very unclear about what I actually have to do. Do I have to ring them for a 'booking appointment' or do they contact me? It all looks very confusing. Sorry if I'm being thick, I've never been up the spout before. Thanks in advance x x

seems they do it different everywhere so best to just give them a ring and ask what they do at your drs :)

i went to a group meeting to get my pack and had my 1st proper midwife appointment today to go through forms and take blood.

it does seem to be different everywhere as i havent had any tests to confirm my pregnancy.

xxxx

mine was the same, went to the dr's and he told me to go get a pack from reception. then i booked the first midwife or booking appointment and that really set the ball rolling :) congratulations xxx

with mine I skipped the doctors as my sister has had two kids and said there was no point if I had defo had three positive tests lol.

We went to my local midwife centre thingy sure start centre. Got the number and rang it and they booked me in after I gave them my details over the phone of like LMP and that x

Doctors are lazy I think they just want to shove you out as quick as possible x Plus when its your first and you have been trying for ever you feel lost at what to do and no one seem to help you x

I'd just ring them hun book it yourself and then your set to go x

Just ring them back and ask for a midwife appointment. They will prob book you in for when you're about 8 weeks. It seems like a long wait but they are always slow at first. X

i rang the surgery to say i had a possitive preg test and who do i need to see, (i was 5wks at this point) she booked me in with the M/W at 7weeks and then all my care has been with midwife, i didnt have to provide a urine sample or anything, and i was kinda unsure until the 12 week scan if there was actually something in there, or if because we had been trying for 15months, if it was my mind playing tricks..... but no there was a little person on the screen :)

id ring and ask to book an appt with the Midwife and see from there,

good luck huni

I called the Doc and his receptionist passed my details onto my Midwife who then wrote to me with my 1st app date. I never even saw my Doc! It's amazing how different it all is!
