When I saw the title of this thread, I thought you were going to be discussing the food meatloaf!!
I was only wondering yesterday how it's made as it seems to be a staple part of the American day-to-day food. I thought you'd saved me the trouble of searching for it by posting a recipe!!!!
But it doesn't seem to be an explanation as to what he won't do.....but you've said that it is....so you must have figured it out, right? Otherwise how do you know that that's the explanation? (did that make sense?)
*gets confused again*....Meatloaf said that at the end of the song is the explanation as to what he won't do? Did he say it on an interview or something?
I've just done a google search to see what other people have been saying about what he won't do....I've found this:
Some have found the lyrics of the song cryptic and claim that the singer never identifies what the "that" is that he is unwilling to do. Although some people assume that "that" is an exophoric reference to a sex act, it is actually an anaphoric reference to the varying activities specified as antecedents in the lyric that the singer says that he won't do.
ll never forget the way you feel right now;
ll never forgive myself if we don't go all the way tonight;
ll never do it better than I do it with you;
ll never stop dreaming of you every night of my life;
In addition, the female vocalist identifies two other things that the lead singer denies that he will do: "You'll see that it's time to move on" and "You'll be screwing around" To both of these, the lead singer responds, "I won't do that! No, I won't do that!"
forgot to say (bragging to rach), i have met the man himself. he used one of our horses in the modern girl video. remember the chestnut horse, filmed in Beckton London. Same place they filmed full metal jacket.
