Measles

Im 95% sure Im overreacting but theres an outbreak of measles in my area. LO is up to date with all vaccines so will have had the first 2 MMRs (I think? or is it just 1 so far?)

Anyway, he has a cold, cough, runny nose, he threw up last night and has a mild fever. He has red eyes this evening which hes started rubbing, he woke this morning they were almost glued together they were so sticky but they havent been sticky through the day just got more and more red.

Is it possible to still get measles even though hes had all the vaccinations? Im supposed to be going away tomorrow for a night out and back saturday lunchtime but I dont want to leave him with OH if he might have measles

Sorry I cant see what age your lo is. You only get one MMR at aged 1 and then a booster before school. If your lo has had the immunisation then he should be covered. Keep an eye on his temp and look for any sign of a rash. His eyes could be due to conjunctivitis, a gentle wipe with salt water using cooled boiled water will clear it up. Hope he is better soon. thanks, hes been very poorly this week. Hes 2 so has had the first MMR but not the booster. He def has conjunctivitis and has dops from the doctor. Hes had fever, bad cough, sickness, runny nose, but fortunately no rash, and he seems a little better this afternoon so hopefully hes shaken it off. PHEW!
