I don't see it as pretending to have sex with someone else. I have watched it and I in no way feel like I am pretending to have sex with the people on screen. I do get what you mean about the expectation it can put on women, especially if it's watched from teen years. If they watch that before they have experienced it, then that is what they think is normal.
It's never nice when pms/hormones etc are blamed. That is annoying xx

Ladies view these things differently. I am turned on by the sexual act. I have no interest in the guy. I asked an ex what he thought about when he watched it and he said he pretended he was the one having sex with the woman. It's why most of the shots are of the woman in various positions, almost talking to the camera. You rarely see more than the guy's penis.

Oh yeah, I understand that. I was just giving my point of view. Tbh, that doesn't bother me either if my OH were to imagine it, as long as he doesn't go and do it for real then I'm all good. Again, it's different for different people.

I find porn more amusing than a turn on, especially girl on girl. It's so acted out and scripted. At uni several us would get drunk and watch it as we made a running commentary. You could pretty much get the order of events right it was so predictable. Gay porn is even funnier.
