****** May 2015 Mummies to be *******

That's how I got through everything! They were making a right hash of my cannula, and I was hysterical and demanding to either go home or have a gas induced general

My mum gave me the G&A and told me to "leave the room" and they used a scanner to find a vein in my arm and put the cannula in there. I came back into the room when it was done lol  I did hammer it a bit too much sometimes and started laughing because I couldnt remember how to breathe!!

Well I managed to keep the lucozade down. Had to drink it within ten mins but I didn't gag as much as I thought I would! Dying for something to eat now! Got my second bloods at ten past 11.
The wait hasn't been too bad as we had a growth scan. Baby is ok but measuring a few weeks ahead. I've also got quite a bit of excess fluid which they are slightly concerned about so they will test for infections when they take my blood. I'm not sure what the complications are with too much fluid so I'm not sure how to feel at the min. It was nice to see baby again anyway. He's grown lots :-)

I have been told this is a possibility for me too. I see the midwife again on the 2nd and if im still measuring big she will send me for a growth scan but thinks its excess fluid as baby measuring spot on at 20 weeks. I do wonder if this excess weight and big bump is contributing towards this SPD. Will be interested to hear how you get on and what they suggest?

I'm useless at keeping up with this thread! Buttonbear I often wish at the moment that I was a baker! Mind you there would be no profit in it for me and a whole lot more weight gain ;) all this talk of lucozade and its making me want some badly! How awful when you poor girlies are all struggling with it!! X

Gestational diabetes could be a cause for baby being a bit bigger and more fluid but they ard also testing for infections. They don't seem overly concerned at the min but they are going to monitor quite closely so will have more growth scans. I guess I won't know anymore till we get the results back. Baby seems to be doing fine though even if he is going to be a little chubster! I've just been told to take it easy as I'm at higher risk of going into premature labour because of the extra waters. Hope everyone else is doing ok today? I'm going to put my feet up now. I feel quite drained after having to fast! X

Orion unfortunately pregnancy has made my IBS worse, I eat lentils (have been making delicious lentil soup for lunches at work), pumpkin seeds, nuts, fruit and veg and most days have porridge for breakfast (proper porridge, not the instant stuff), dried dates and figs, but even with all of that I have found prunes in juice is what has been helping be with ‘going’. We eat clean, everything home made, no ready meals, ready made sauces anything like that, yet still randomly suffer with bad IBS bouts

Lovely scan pic Jenb :-)

Bigbee, glad you’ve felt movements, mine still aren’t regular, but definitely feeling her every day now. Still can’t feel anything from outside, so other half hasn’t been able to feel her move yet.

I haven’t watched one born every minute, but did think a few days ago perhaps I should watch a few episodes :-)

I’m worried about feeling /being sick or too out of it ,on gas and air, but equally worried about having an injection into my back. Needles don’t both me, but not sure the idea of one so near my discs is tempting!

Hope everyone is having a good day xx

Hello ladies. Im feeling much better today. Much more positive and happy. I've managed to speak to my manager and we've discussed my return to work before my maternity leave which is a huge weight lifted off my shoulders and also my scan went well. Both babies now head down. Slight difference in Size which totals about a week but is only about 30g but it's normally apparently. But both weighing around 450-500 gram mark. Glad everyone's got on well today. Think im gonna take a nap beforemy little man gets back from nursery as had a rubbish night sleep with one thing and another xxx

Blueyes - everyone's IBS is different I've found. I hope you know I wasn't suggesting you eat junk!

I think my 'system' was fast, and pregnancy has slowed it down to normal. If I didn't start with IBS I'd probably be moaning about constipation!

Caseysmummy glad you've got things sorted with work.

Orion, no not at all :-) like you say everyone's ibs is so different.

Got pregnancy yoga tonight, looking forward to it xx

Gosh my poor arms are pooped after today's gym session, got back into my weights again. Felt good!

Also had MIL and FIL helping sort out/pack etc for moving today so I am Beat!!

Glad the GTT went okay jen and how cute a pic!!

I have my repeat scan tomorrow can't wait to see my little lady again :)

I've made a big mistake ha ha.......home early and thought I'd watch a one born every minute before yoga. halfway through the program and a women delivering her first has screamed all the way through!

xx

Bahahahaha!! That's what they do! Makes me shiver. Someone please tell me they are putting it on!

This evening I told the kids at work that I am pregnant, they are SO excited! They've been kissing and talking to my tummy, so cute!

Re the screaming i swear it is so daft i never even thought about making any noise let alone screaming and i had no pain relief bar a little gas and air!! Mws usually tell you to shut up haha they did to a woman in the room next to me as it makes it worse, you just need to focus on breathing.

The one I watched she was screaming her head off! and only 2cm dialated when she demanded and epidural xx

I've just had a tour of the maternity part of our hospital. Omg.

The midwife led birth centre is beautiful, the labour and delivery bit is definitely not so nice. I know where I'd prefer to be! I didn't hear one person screaming though!

The antenatal ward is so, so depressing. I definitely don't want to go there either!

It's actually worried me a bit, it didn't have a nice atmosphere at all.

Haha a lot of people do scream. A lot. :) I've been present for 5 of my nieces/nephews births and can vouch that some scream but some don't even make a sound!

I love one born. I watched it the Wednesday before I went into labour and I was still in hospital the following Wednesday with my newborn and watched it then too. :) was not missing my program :)

I need to get my 3d scan booked! I want to see my little Mr again! (Or atleast have a date for it)

Mayflower thats a bummer, so was the MLU better? This is why i want a home birth, hospitals are soooo depressing, although the MLU is lovely!!
