Bit of a rant as I'm getting so frustrated! I vacuum bagged my clothes that don't fit anymore and now my wardrobe is looking quite bare.. I'd seen a few things I fancied online but as I was going shopping yesterday anyway, thought I may as well wait and get things from the shops.

My dad told me to pick a dress as a pressie from him so I had something in mind from Topshop, but when I got in there the selection was so tiny I couldn't even find it for ages! They had less than half of what they had online and only in one or two sizes, I was gutted and came away empty handed.

I also tried New Look, which was equally disappointing and found that Next don't even stock their maternity stuff in stores.. Mothercare had a few pairs of jeans and a few tops which were a bit frumpy for my liking and I ended up leaving the shopping centre with an adorable baby gro but nothing for me! I know H&M do maternity but it's a small selection which always seems to be the same stuff!

Does anyone know any shops which actually stock full maternity lines? I'm so fed up of not being able to get stuff, I hate ordering blindly online now as I'm never sure how it'll fit and hate the hassle of taking stuff back but i'm thinking that's the only option?

Hi hun. I have had this frustration too. It's soooo annoying!! I didn't find anywhere that had a good stock of maternity wear to be honest. Every store just said order online or order for in store delivery free of charge. New look was the only place nearby that even stocks maternity clothes where I live! I have stormed out of so many shops in a huff!

Sorry I'm no help but I think this is a frustration for most pregnant women!

Just wanted to say I feel your pain! I get so frustrated by the lack of maternity wear in shops. And the fact that if the shop does sell maternity clothes - it's never signposted well so you end up walking 'round for an hour before you find it!!! Matalan do a small selection - I've just bought a pair of linen trousers and a few t-shirts for there. Bought some linens from New Look too, and some jeans before Peacocks closed.

To be honest the rest of my stuff (I think), I bought from eBay.

I feel your pain, I've found the best is New Look but you have to go to one of their bigger stores to find anything x

Please excuse any typos from my fat fingers!
Tapatalk madness!

This is why I am living in leggings and baggy vest tops

I have a few summer dresses that I can still get into and a few dresses that will fit if I have any special occasions!

I don't want to spend loads of money, I do thik maternity clothes are a proper rip off!

xxxxxxxxxx

if anyone wants a pair of size 14 maternity slouch jeans and work trousers ( over the bump ) I have these for sales £15 for the pair they were £20 each from peacocks xx

I got a couple of tops from newlook, but not in the maternity range, topshop was crap thought I did get a black dress for £20 (not from where I live though, had to go to Bristol). I found JoJo Mama Bebe had some nice stuff, I got a wrap top and a skirt.

How was your scan?

What I started to do was go into the store to try on one of their maternity things even if I wasn't going to buy it, just so I got an idea of the sizes (most of them come up huge) and then order online because there is just no choice in the shops.

I personally think there is a serious gap in the market to sell decent maternity stuff, we could all go in together and make some decent clothes. People are never going to stop having babies so therefore I figure there is an ongoing viable business here.

Anyone fancy joining? :)

This time next year Rodders.....

xx

I'm in! I have given up on maternity wear TBH. I just slob around in the same pair of leggings and any top that I can squeeze into. I found going to shops really frustrating because of the lack of choice. I liked Asos's free delivery and returns service, but their clothes aren't cheap. x

The Milton Keynes JoJo Mama Bebe closed down sadly, I think I'm just going to have to order a few bits online.. It's annoying as I don't want a lot, just thought I'd treat myself to a couple of simple dresses, some leggings and a few tee's but it wasn't to be!

My scan was great thanks, I posted in tri 2 that we're team pink and I'm so excited! :)

We really should all get together and start a high street maternity chain! It's either only online, frumpy and dull or expensive, so there's definitely a huge gap in the market!
I'm going to order a couple of bits from asos today and hope for the best!

Iv always just bought my maternity stuff online... Stuff in shops are pretty pathetic!xx

Was hoping you would be, with your design flair we could be minted :)
x

I dont like Jojo stuff, its proper pricey and a bit mumsy - I know that is a daft thing to say but I bought a couple of those wrap around tops that they do and a cardi, the cardi didnt wash well and has lost its shape after a few wears and the wrap tops look ok, so long as you dont need to go to the loo as it end up having to re-tie it everytime, same goes for when you sit down in it too, it can ride up and you cant just pull it down as its in different sections - soooo annoying - dont waste your money on them.

xx

haha. You should see the badly-made bits of baby clothing I've just sewn at home... I don't think they are going to fit. Gonna need some practice at clothes designing before we go launching an ill-fitting maternity wear line :) xxx

Our h&m and Dorothy Perkins (we have an actual shop and one in a section of debenhams) and they have a range of maternity bits in each!

Matalan has some nice stuff cheap. BUT if your a bigger boobed woman they don't fit :(

I tried on 2 dresses there and the under the boob elestic line went thru the middle of my boobs! No good when they hurt all ready and looks naff.
So came away with a set of 2 tops (1 fits well and is nice and baggy but the other from the same pack is too tight!)

So have a mooch around the cheaper stores but always try them on!
