Maternity clothes

I have given up on Maternity wear! I have only managed to find two nice dresses and two nice tops.... I am just buying things in bigger sizes or stretching my existing tops out. I figure once I have lost the baby weight I will be able to justify buying some nice new stuff.

FirstBaby- if you need me to sort out the manufacturing side I am in! My mum manufactures clothes  x

Can you ladies who are going in to this maternity wear please remember us larger ladies.

I've flicked around in a few shops at the maternity wear (even though it's far to early for it yet) and I haven't yet found any past a size 20  So far the only place I've found to do 'Outsize' maternity wear is Simply Be.

Also, I tend to wear lot's of Black or outdoor clothes, usually jeans or combats and plain t shirts or polo shirts......why is maternity wear always so feminine and floaty?? Why can't I have skinny jeans? Black combats and black t's with an extra big belly part? Leggins and t shirts with the arms holes big enough to show my bra (if I can find them big enough) it is then!!!

Aaarrrggghhh this drove me insane when I was looking for maternity clothes. The only shop round here to stock any maternity clothes was Mothercare, all the other shops that have a maternity range don't stock it in their shops here, which is just so stupid 'cos more than any other time I wanted to be able to try stuff on 'cos I had no idea what size to get :wall2: I ended up buying:

- pair of jeans from Next
- pair of black work trousers from Red Herring at Debenhams
- two summer dresses from Mothercare

That's it. I bought loads of other bits from various websites but ended up taking it all back 'cos none of it fitted properly. Like Karate Kid I've just been stretching my normal tops on the basis that it gives me an excuse to buy some new ones afterwards! Would rather do that than waste loads of money on clothes that don't fit properly and will only last six or so months.

I've picked some stuff up today in asda cheap and will do the job for now

Trouble is now I'm nearly 34 weeks I'm already starting to 'grow' out of some of my stuff. My work trousers are a tad on the tight side when i sit down since Pickle has moved into my pelvis, so I've taken to extending the waistband with a hair bobble which is not ideal as they end up being too big when I stand up and walk around. It's a nightmare! x

I had a look in asda yesterday but none of it took my fancy, it's always of a certain style and I'm my dress seance is usually a little more quirky, bright colours and cute prints.. It's all mumsy floral floaty stuff, sleeveless which I hate or just old fashioned looking..

I thought about Dorothy Perkins but that's closed down here now too!

Maybe I'm being too picky.. Really I just want maternity versions of my normal clothes!

I've not had this problem as such yet.
I had to find something to wear for my neices christening at 23 weeks I think it was and nothing looked right!
I don't have any maternity clothes, I'm still in alot of my pre-bump things. Tbh, I'm not going to waste money on loads of maternity clothes when I can buy a couple of sizes bigger and probably wont need them once LO is here. I'd rather save my money and treat myself to a new wardrobe afterwards. x
