@Charlotte people get irate about dopplers because they assume you're going to go 'oh everythings fine so i dont need to go to the midwife' - when in reality all I think when I use it is literally 'yep, baby is alive' and 'what a nice sound.'
I got grilled on my thread about dopplers on here for the same reason. If I thought for one minute something was wrong nothing would stop me from phoning the midwives, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy listening to the sound of my baby's heartbeat. They just assume you don't know what you're doing because not everyone does. I used one with my DD too, it was amazing. OH and I love laying in bed listening to the heartbeat and little flutters of baby kicking, can't feel them yet but we can hear them
I was always in hospital on the belly doppler with DD because she kept not moving for a day or so at a time, they used to monitor me for a few hours. I may not be a midwife but it only takes one to teach you what you're looking for, same way they learn, right?
