hi there

i have a luteal phase of 9 days, should i be worried about this?

i conceived before but miscarried at 6 weeks, i have been tryin to get pregnant for 9 months since, could the short luteal phase be the reason?

thanks

Hi,

I'm no expert on this but from what I've read, it can be problematic conceiving if you have a short luteal phase. A short LP is considered anything less than 10 days.

So sorry to hear that you've suffered a m/c. However, it's encouraging for you that you have been able to conceive.

A short LP is usually down to progesterone deficiency, which can be treated. It may be worth visiting your GP if you haven't already.

Good luck.

I'm not 100% sure but I would think it would be harder to get pregnant because the fertilised egg takes about 10 days to travel down your tubes and implant (don't quote me on that)

As bagpuss says it's the progesterone that is the dominant hormone during your luteal phase and it can be teated if you speak to a doctor.

If your unsure I would suggest you speak to your doc....even if it's only to put your mind at rest
