Funny you should say that, according to my digi tests I'm about 5 weeks too. Been away for a few days so not been eating much as its not been easy to eat meals when I'm from one train to another, but what I am eating isn't the usual healthy meals is have at home. I've been feeling massive and even my underwear is cutting me in half! Had to undo my jeans on the train today as I was so uncomfortable! I wonder if bloating is a common symptom? Doesn't seem to matter how much I go to the loo, I still feel like my belly is bursting at the seams! I look the exact same shape and size as you in your pic and I'm normally a 14. Xx

ive went from 14 to 16 in a matter of days, my back is constantly aching i feel as if im 5months gone lol ( have a son already so know the feeling lol) xxx

Isn't it strange? This is my first. Terrified of something going wrong. I had a termination many years ago when I was much younger and someone did the dirty on me but only thing I had then was a bit of queasiness and sore boobs. Didn't have bloating, in fact i was the thinnest ive ever been! Now I feel like I'm ballooning! At least it happens to others too so it must be normal :) xx

im just freaking out as theres a history of twins in my OH family xx

I was no bigger in tri 1 with my twins than with my singletons.
I wouldn't automatically think twins tbh hun x

dont worry i was like that in the start was huge was very bloated x

I wouldn't worry hun, Your not at a higher risk of twins because they don't carry on through the Daddy its all to do with Mummys genes whether theres going to be more than one.

The bloating is normal. You should see how big I am at night and if I've eaten a normal sized meal... I just swell up. Eat small meals to break up the day and the bloating shouldn't be as bad.

xx

I was worried like you at first as I bloated up massive but at around 7 to 8 weeks it had all gone ,flat tummy again now ( well as flat as possible after 5 babies anyway) now I'm just waiting for a proper bump to appear hopefully very soon. Don't worry I'm sure it's only one in there. Take care xx

You often show earlier with second pregnancies?

xxxxxx

i know you show earlier with second pregnancies but the "bloating" doesnt just come on and go away, its there everyday from the minute i get up till i go to bed theres no sign of it going down, asked my aunt who is a midwife is australia and she says its just a build up of weight due to my abdominal muscles not being 100% again after my first pregnancy. im going to try and get £100 together and go for a baybond private early scan which is available between 7-11 weeks as i cant wait another 7 for a 12 week scan xxx

mines the same i wouldnt worry and i have also had ppl ask how far are u n i say 8 weeks they say wow u sure there isnt 2 but thatsw at ppl always say lol it probably wont change much now till urerus pops up from behind ur pubic area which is around 12 weeks, dont worry its quite normal xxx

Even if there were two in there as comic says you wouldn't be showing a baby bump at 5 weeks, at 5 weeks it's smaller than your finger nail .Don't worry and please don't race to waste your money as a scan would be much better when you can see more detail than you ever will at 5 weeks . Take care xx

i know its not the baby as the uterus doesn't move up out of the pelvis until 12 weeks and that's for everybody and that all babies are the same size and weight up until around 14-16 weeks then it depends on the lengths of the legs etc. Babies don't start laying down fat stores until after 26-28 weeks and after you've had a baby your stomach muscles are never the same so they stretch easier the next time you fall pregnant.

i know its just bloating, ive been pregnant before and never had bloating at all phoned my epu last night as my back was extremely painful and was asked about other symptoms when i explained the bloating the fact ive went up a clothes size in the space of a few days and ive went up 2 cup sizes in bras the midwife i spoke to asked about twins in the family when i mentioned my OH family have two sets she said twins are something i might have to brace myself for, also peoples bodies react differently to pregnancy so me being extremely bloated at 5 weeks could just be gas or it could be my body trying to make room for more than 1 baby i'll just have to wait 7 weeks for a 12 week scan, if i can afford it i would love a private scan either way, a private scan at 7-9 weeks would allow me to see how many are there and if theres heartbeat(s) which would allow me to start planning financially xx

This is still on your OHs side though and to have twins follow on through the family its either you have released two eggs which would result in fraternal twins (and this would have been passed on from your mother, nothing to do with your OH) or the egg just splits into two which results in identical and this is a spontaneous thing, not associated with the fathers sperm but rather the mothers egg and this can happen to anybody even if twins do not run in your family theres still the same chance it can happen to anybody.

Hope you find out whats causing the bloating. It could just be because its your second pregnancy and your stomach muscles have already been stretched out so its easier for them to pop out sooner this time round.

I think it is just the muscles popping out earlier well according to my aunt in oz who is a midwife either that or rapid weight gain which she doesnt understand as its to fast to be weight gain xx

I had a bump at 5wks but it was due to bloating. I had a major bloat on for the first few weeks of my pregnancy!!
