Leaving Hospital Outfit

i thought this topic was for us mommys at first

i havent really thought about this. i havent brought anything yet, as i too am scared of buying to early.

im not sure on the sex of the baby, although they think boy. so ill either get a nice outfit in a neutral colour, or be daring and buy something blue :)

love the dungarees :D

We bought an outfit y'day for her.....we're going to save it for her in a keepsake box with other '1st' things...... won't be keeping 1st nappy though :rotfl:

Gosh those are some lovely buys ladies...I'll be keeping the first outfit in his keepsake box too - I doubt we'll keep the first nappy either - although we are using cotton!! :rotfl:

I haven't bought anything special for a first outfit. We don't know the sex and I didn't want to spend loads on neutral clothes as I'll want to put baby in pink or blue once we know. So first outfir will just be a plain white baby gro. I did buy this little coat for the first outing, so if I do end up in hospital this will be what he/she actually leaves in:

I feel bad now for saying he's just gonna be wearing a vest and babygro.

don't feel bad, do what ever you think is best for your baby!

I live less than 5 mins drive from the hospital and it will be hot weather end July/ beginning of August so baby will be more than comfortable in a vest / baby grow. To be honest is what i will prob do. First journey in a car - no idea how they will react - could throw up etc.. over everything anyway! We have a few family parties in the month or so after the baby is due so will probably save the cute outfits for that.

Hi Nicola,

Lovely outfit, however I had a meeting with a real nappy supplier on Saturday - who said that certain makes of clothes (Next being the example she used) didn't make the bottoms big enough for cloth bummed babies!

I hope I haven't rained on your parade, just wanted to warn you in case it didn't fit!

Love

Thanks for the head's up valentine....I'm cheating and using disposables the first week, just to get Pudding and I into more of a routine then making the switch (cloth nappies are often too big for newborns even in the newborn sizes  ) so keeping my fingers crossed!! I'm still shopping around though, got a few months before I need to make the first outfit purchase!!
