Knowing sex at 12 weeks?

Ive been hearing thats its possible to predict the sex of a baby by looking at 12 week scan. Does anyone know if this is really possible?

I know it can be done through either an amnio or cvs, but I think everything is still too tiny to see at that stage.

Are you talking about nub theory? It's not highly scientific but some people swear by it!! xx

Yes thats what ive heard. Something to do with the angle of the nub I think it was xxx

I wanted people on here to guess what I'm having using the nub theory, but there is no nub on my 12wk scan lol. Baby is sitting upright with its legs crossed lol x

I had a private scan at 12+1 and was told 85% chance it was a boy...had another this wk at 16+4 and it is a little boy! I have no idea how they tell but the Dr that did my scan has years of experience and is a leading expert so I guess they know what they ate looking for!!

if the nub is on an angle with the body of 40 degrees they say its a boy anything higher its a girl. you cant really see the nub properly on your scan to say for sure. i looked at mine and thought a boy and brought loads of boy things at 20 week scan i found out it was aboy. so you never really know x

We were told at 12 & 13 weeks our baby was 70% a boy. This was confirmed at later scans x

Same here. I also got told by midwife that if you have a really strong gut feeling then you may well be right. Midwife said she had a lot of ladies who just "knew". I thought mine was boy from day one and we stayed team yellow through out pregnancy. Big day came and it was a boy. xx

Hmm that's interesting. I'm convinced I'm having a boy, have been since day 1. Will be interesting to see if I'm right x
