Good afternoon ladies,

I have not been on for a few days because I have been down at my in laws to be in Bristol..

When we were driving down on Thursday I felt a bit crampy but I just put it down to being sat in the car and didn't think too much about it. The cramps carried on during Friday afternoon but they weren't too painful and so I didn't really worry. But then I started to get some brown discharge.....again, I wasn't too concerned but rang the midwife just to check and she said just to keep an eye on it and if it was no better by Monday to go to EPU when I got back up home. I remembered everyone saying so long as it was not britgh red, you were okay.

Well on Saturday night the cramps started to get noticeably more uncomfortable......and they seemed to be coming in waves like contractions......constantly dull but then seemed to peak to very uncomfortable which lasted about 30 seconds. I was now beginning to worry...went to bed and was woken by terrible pain and went to loo, wiped and red blood... So off to A&E I went.....

Had bloods done, paracetomol via a drip and the pains got really bad, went to the loo and (TMI alert) passed a clot and a lot of blood. My heart sank.......I looked into the toilet and it was just clearly blood...there was no tissue as such but i still thought the worst....

I was taken by ambulance to another hospital where there was a gyny ward and I had to go through a very painful internal exam by the doctor....

It turns out my cervix is still closed and she couldnt say whether i had had a miscarriage or if it was still going to happen or if it was just one of those bleeds that pregnant ladies can have. she said 'if i thought you were miscarrying, i would tell you'......she said although it looked like a lot of blood to me, it wasn't a huge amount in the grand scheme of things. They took more bloods and sent me home (at my request) with strict instructions that any heavy bleeding i had to go back in.

I am having a scan on Monday morning which will tell me whats going on......

The only glimmer of hope i have is that my cervix was still shut and she said the pain could be down to my body trying to expel the blood clots she could see at my cervix and also the other glimmer is that the blood has more or less stopped.....didnt really have any after i came home and it's gone to more or less nothing all day, just pinkish watery...def not the dark blood i did have. plus the pains have significantly subsided...

sorry for the huge essay.....wondered if anyone had had a similar experience...

please keep everything crossed for us......xxxxx

awww hope you are ok chick. Fx for you xxxxxxxx

If the blood has stopped now I would say that's a great sign. When I miscarried and I was only 6 1/2 weeks I bled ALOT. Although I had no pain. My cervix was also closed but I didn't actually miscarry until the following day. I knew when I did even at such an early stage. I did have some cramping just before I miscarried, but it wasn't too bad.

I think if the bleeding had stopped that's a really good sign that maybe it's just some bleeding in pregnancy. Is it around the time your AF would have been due?

AF would have been due last weekend.......how many days did you bleed for? my first proper bleed of a lot of red blood and clots happened at about 1am and stopped again about 4am after the doctor had cleared some clots away from my cervix....

i have a pad on and there's none on the pad, the only time there is any sign is if i wipe after being to the loo and it's just pinkish now....

although sat here and its like i can feel blood...but it's my imaginiation cos i go and check andf there's nothing

xx

I bled for about 10 days, longer than a normal period with lots of clots. It was literally pouring out when I would sit on the loo! Sorry for the TMI but that's how it felt. The hospital were still giving me hope even though I'd bled so much but I knew it was over. It sounds like you haven't bled much at all, which is really good.

I think maybe it could be related to your period rather than a miscarriage. I've got everything crossed for you honey xxxxxx

Hunny you sound like you have been through it all over the past few days, massive :hugs:
Its a good sign the bleeding has stopped now. Goodluck for tomorrow, we will be thinking of you and waiting for the good news that your little bean is just fine in there x x

thanks my lovely......how are you and bean?

xx

I had a little scare last night when i went to the loo, im feeling alot more calmer now as i havent had any more.
How are you feeling sweetie? I hope your resting and you have got your feet up x x

yeah im on the sofa and have been here all day. only getting up to go to the loo! OH is looking after me, he was a rock last night and nearly had his hands broken when i was getting my internal done! bless him...

i feel okay....just worried and dont know what to think, but pains gone and no bleeding so its a bit odd really. you'd think if i was losing it there would be a lot more blood and it certainly wouldnt have stopped after that short time..

still keeping an open mind though and preparing myself for the worst..

xxx

Glad your OH is looking after you hunny. I would say that there would of been alot more blood if it was a miscarriage hunny, mine was slightly different as i had medical management but i was bleeding for weeks(tmi).
Take care of yourself and if got my fingers and toes crossed that your little bean is just fine in there x x

thanks.....bit naive but whats 'medical management' same as d and c? xx

I have no idea what to say but if your cervix was closed thats a good sign! Fingers crossed for you hun :hugs: xxx

Medical management is an oral tablet then a set of tablet that are inserted down below (tmi), it opens your cervix and brings on contractions/labour hunny its another option instead of a d&c, but i never had an option as i was past 12 weeks :( So mine wasnt really classed as a natural mc x x

ah i see......well i suppose after the scan tomorrow we will then know the way forward, whatever that may be xx

Oh my God, hun, I am so sorry to hear what you have been through. When I had a mc, my cervix was closed in the beginning but my bleeding didnt stop, it got worse and was heavier than a normal period so it's a very good sign that your bleeding stopped.

I also had horrible pain - like contractions so it does sound good that everything has stopped for you, I will be holding my fingers crossed for you, did they tell you to stay at home with your feet up? I am surprised they havent offered you a scan straight away, I will be holding absolutely everything crossed for Monday. Big hugs

Good luck hun, hope everything is ok tomorrow xxx

because i was there in the middle of the night, there was no one there who could so the scans for someone under 12 weeks pregnant. those nurses/doctors are only back in on monday morning...which is why i have to go back...

i have been on the sofa all day and not moved...only to go to loo!!! xx

Oh samsgirl, sounds like you have really had a time of it, glad your OH is looking after you. its a great sign that the bleeding has stopped, we have seen lots of ladies have bleeding on here in first tri and everything is fine. Hope it goes ok tomorrow. will be thinking of you! xxx
