Hi there just wanted to say to everyone feeling a bit down about TTC. I have been with my boyfriend john for over 5 years, we never used contraception from the start (which was stupid I know we were only 18 when we met) anyway, nothing was happening and we weren't trying we just weren't stopping ourselves, I asked the doctors around 2 years in to our relationship if there was a problem and all they kept saying was loose weight I was around 15 stone size 18.
I was getting really down about it because I work in Debenhams so see bigger mums all the time.
I left it another 2 years and mentioned it to another doctor who referred me to our head doctor who is a women's health specialist, she did mention the weight but also sent me for an ultrasound where nothing was found, she prescribed me metformin to regulate my periods and also Orlistat to help loose weight, a year later I was 3 stone lighter (I shot up to 17.5 stone size 20/22) having periods once a month (which was amazing! I used to have like 3 a year) and now I'm 39 weeks pregnant
After 5 years you nearly give up but hang in there especially for the young ones who think you're too young to speak to your doctor because that's how I felt we weren't married and I was only 22/23 at the time but I'm really glad I mentioned it
Hope this helps someone
