** January Mummies **

Is anybody starting a tri 2 thread? Officially in it now  that's until my scan on Tuesday and then find out my actual due date haha

Looking forward to a new picture of your scan tomorrow then. Everything will be ok.
I sneak naps in if I can, I have to, otherwise I'll be a zombie. Probably doesn't help, that I have to get up during the night to pee... no idea when I had solid 6 -7 hours sleep without disruption Haha
Haha impossible! I hate it when people tell you to try to resy as much as possible before the baby comes but it's physcallph impossible to sleep well!
I will start a new thread but will only add the ladies who are still active. I don't get why some people just log on, say their due date and never come back lol

Especially when you have other children, you can't just lay and rest... I am lucky that my oldest will take my youngest for an hour or two so I can have a nap when OH is at work though. It does help a lot

Yeah I noticed there is only really a handful of us talking here. Strange isnt it?

The new thread is set up! I just saw that Zara also had one set up, I thought she was a December mummy?

Oh no! You too! Which antibiotics are you taking? I only had a 5 day treatment of amoxicillin, and started gyno-dactarin on the second day due to increased risk of thrush... So romantic when you're on holiday!
They are painful aren't they?! I hope the burning will go away soon hun! Drink lots of water!x

I’m on nitrofurantoin. I’ve never been on this before usually it’s amoxicillin like you. Yeah really painful. I was doubled over earlier and was like. Yeah we need to go to walk in. I won’t get a gp appointment till Thursday lol x

Oh geez, I'm glad it didn't catch me yet. I always had water infections during early pregnancy but seemed to have been lucky so far.
Hope you're not in too much discomfort @Lollypop79

It’s not too bad just when I need a wee I have to go straight away as it hurts but antibiotics should sort it out and I’ll feel better within a couple days. I think I got this with my previous pregnancies. I forgot all about it xx

I saw on your footnote that you have 2 older ones yourself. Strange going through it all after such a long time. There is 11 years between my oldest and my youngest and I honestly felt like a first time mum. So much I've forgotten about pregnancy too

Yes it is. 14 years my youngest and 17 the oldest. I do feel like i’m starting again and will be a first time mum. Especially as so much has changed. My oh shocked me when he asked if we could try for a baby. My kids are from a previous relationship. He is a brilliant stepdad to them. Very supportive which was very lacking with my children’s father lol. Will be a good experience. I can’t wait.

Are you doing lots of research on what to get etc. So many things now. It was all quite basic when I had mine lol x

Wow, how did your children react to the news? Were they happy about the soon-to-be new addition to the family? Hope the UTI clears soon, mine started clearing after 2 days.

How about your children @vampysgirl ?

Haha. They were both happy for me but said so long as didn’t affect them they were happy for us. They don’t want to babysit. I laughed as I wouldn’t do that to them. They also don’t want to be disturbed at night. I just laughed as I can’t promise that. They are both not broody or interested at all. My son (17 ) is autistic so he doesn’t get attached or have feelings really. My daughter (14) is going through assessment for autism. She isn’t interested at all and finds babies annoying. But they are supportive of me. They do like to see me happy and after the miscarriage. They saw how upset I was and both handled it well but obviously can be quite blunt about things. X

At least they didn't make a big scene about it lol
How do they assess autism though? I'm sorry if it's a rude question but I have no clue. I suspect the daughter of my SIL has some sort of autism, like you said, she barely shows any emotion besides anger, she gets upset (screaming for minutes at a time) when something doesn't go her way or when she doesn't get what she wants. Doesn't interact with other children. Obviously I can't say anything about it, but it doesn't feel like she is like other kids. Does the school alert the parents?x

It can depend. Sometimes school picks up on it and tells you, sometimes parents know, a lot of things. With my son I knew from when he was little. I kept going to doctors and they kept dismissing me as a neurotic mother. I kept at them and it wasn’t until he started secondary school at around 10 that it all came a head. I was dealing with him (the correct way it turns out) accommodating his needs with primary school etc but when he went to secondary he couldn’t cope. Was very upset and having anxiety attacks. It’s such a more demanding and independent environment he couldn’t cope. I went to the school and asked for help. They immediately said go to doctors and speak about referring him. I did and got a locum doctor who immediately referred him. He was assessed at different stages over a year and diagnosed at 11. I was congratulated on bringing him up with no support and despite him having Austin he was doing well.

My daughter I just didn’t realise. Girls present differently and again she hit secondary and she really struggled with anxiety and social problems. She was a different child. They often mask their symptoms. They know something is different. See other “normal” children and copy their behaviour.

With assessments a lot of people get together and asses them as they do tasks, work, talk to them. Watch them interact with others. They are monitored at school and parents interviewed. Then the child psychologist, behaviour specialist, mental health teams, gp, and few others meet. Review the evidence and come up with a diagnosis. I can spot a boy with autism from a mile off. Girls not so much. And it wasn’t a rude question. I’ll answer any questions as it widens knowledge. A lot of people don’t know much about it xx

My oldest is really happy. He always said we would have another one ( even we never planned for it haha and did take precaution, however this one decided to beat it )
My youngest one keeps saying he's having a baby sister ( let's hope he's right or I have no idea what he will say to a brother )
My nearly 16 year old is brilliant with his little brother and I know he will love this one just as much.
He was away for 2 weeks and every day I would have a text asking if everything is ok. He knows about all the previous miscarriages and seems to worry more at the moment then what I do. Bless his heart.

@Lollypop79 I did read up lots when I was pregnant with my little one as there was so much I've forgotten. Maybe it's also because I'm older and not as naive anymore as with 19/20.
I like the age gap, I have a baby sister who's 13 younger then me ( was actually there when she was born and cut the umbilical cord ) I love the relationship we have together
