*January 2018 mummies - tri 3!*

^ Yes, you're allowed to wee. I'm having my second GTT on Wednesday

I'm finally in my third trimester! Yay!

Times dragging and rushing along all at once lol I’ll feel like I’ve been pregnant forever then boom! 4 weeks just disappeared lol

Hey girls,
So my sister in law is getting married in December and I need a dress but can't find one anywhere that's nice enough for a wedding and for maternity.... any recommendations??
Thanks :)

I had my first leak through of colostrum last night. Walked into kitchen without bra on and OH said what's that that's come through your t-shirt. Thought was just water at first but it seemed strange that it was directly on my t-shirt where my nipple was... Let it dry and it dried a slight yellowish colour so was definitely colostrum. Didn't think it'd start this early for me but it's suddenly becoming very real!

I washed all of Jaxon's clothes 2 days ago so they are all fresh and dry now and ready and waiting for him in his drawers! OH and I also chose his going home outfit from the hospital. We picked out 3 outfits in newborn size and 3 outfits in 0-3months since we don't know how big he will be we want to keep our options open. We decided to get all of this out of the way now just in case nearer the time I don't feel up to doing it. I'm a really organised person as well so just couldn't help myself.

Going to be starting the hospital bag later today as well - I know some may say it's a bit early as a lot of mum's don't seem to start packing until around 35-36 weeks but I'd rather be prepared. If something happens I want to be able to just grab the bag and go without having to worry about packing first. Again, my organisational skills coming through... Lol.

Hope all is well with you ladies. I can't believe we only have such a short amount of time left.. It's crazy that our little ones are going to be here real soon xx

You are super organised Mariexo! We are having work done in our house so literally haven't done or bought anything for baby...but its number 3! I'll only be taking newborn to the hospital as 0-3 is huge and even at 8lbs 11 newborn was still huge for my first born. Don't think 0-3 fitted till he was at least a month old - he wore up to 1 month for a while after newborn. Second was in tiny baby at 7lbs 4 for around a week. Plus I'm only packing babygros and vests, plus a couple of cardigans, as I find other clothes such a faff with a newborn. Mine generally live in babygros for the first few months, more practical and I think they look really cute!

We are staying at my parents for a few weeks whilst the dirty work is done and I'm ready to go home but still early a week to go

Ah, that's interesting to know! This is my first so of course I'm not entirely sure with every aspect so that's why I decided to be better safe than sorry and pack 3 newborn outfits and 3 0-3 months outfits. The 0-3 outfits look like they've shrunk a little bit from the wash though... So that's not always a bad thing I suppose, they may not be TOO big for him after all. We'll have to see! Xx

Any second time mums got tips on what to pack in my hospital bag? I've done a list today of bits to pick up, just want anything you found handy or wish you took. All getting real now hey! Thanks for the advice on sizing Hoping for no 2 x

I'd personally take a few more than 3 newborn as they go through a lot of babygros in the early days and just in case you end up in for a few days. I'm going to take 6 as having a section so will prob be in for a few days. X

Hi all, hope you are well :)

For the hospital bag..

I'm a bit weird about recommending products in case the chemicals are technically not good around baby but i will say the peppermint or was it tea tree tingle? shower gel i took made me feel so much fresher as it felt cool/tingly on my skin. I think itnwas the green original source one
I wish I'd taken more spare trousers/leggings for myself..., my husband had to go and buy some for me
I wish I'd thought about shoes, my feet were very swollen for a short while
I had no Wi-Fi access so entertainment stuff might be important to you (or not)
I actually wish id packed a nicer going home outfit, i went with a huge baggy thin jumper and lounge pants which is so not me so i didnt feel myself and i look awful in my pics
This time i want but havent found a solution for my hair, i live by my straighteners so i thought it would be fine to scrape it back into a french plait after i washed it but this also made me look ill i need my fringe unles my hair is properly done but my natural hair can be a bit mental.
I didn't need breast pads as a first time mum or nipple cream but some might and i might this time.
I'm greedy so i was so happy my husband brought me a box of nuts and treats as despite the multiple courses.. The tiny portions didn't really cut it especially when my main meal wasnt veggie so i had to skip most of it.

This all sounds very vain but basicslly i think i had packed loungey pj type stuff but regular clothes might have helped me feel more myself. I seemed to have plenty for my baby though admittedly dont remember how many outfits i packed. When i have a proper think about it, ill write again if i think of anything.

One thing i will say, the postage really seems to add up if you buy online, its worth considering buying gradually from local shops (loads of stuff in supermarkets now too- just compare pricing before getting it all online)

All I've ever needed wasa change of clothes, toiletries, maternity pads, nappies, wipes, vest, babygrow. Blanket and car seat (left in the car). We had our phones and some snacks. I literally packed loads more and didn't use half of it. Better to feel prepared I suppose!

I was ‘advised’ not to buy any newborn babygros as they grow out of them too fast but thank goodness I didn’t listen! My daughter was a pretty average 7lb8 and even newborns swamped her! So I won’t be taking any 0-3 to the hospital, just newborn. Definitely a flannel for face during labour and I bought a couple of packs of huge black pants from primark which held maternity pads in well. Sanitary pads aren’t enough- maternity pads were definitely needed for me personally. Couple of energy drinks. Dry shampoo as I wasn’t in long enough to wash hair etc but good for a freshen up! I just have all miniature toiletries as won’t get through too much. Ohhh and this is gross but diarrear is the worst just before labour so I’ve bought the Andrex wet wipes that you can flush to clean properly and not so sore on bum!!!

I had started to pick a few bits up here and there. Then I found the superdrug maternity range. Really good value. 10 packs of maternity towels are 99p. I have bought breast pads and nipple cream too, they were only 99p each though also. Also disposable pants, 99p! Delivery I didn't pay anything cause you can click and collect. Bought things like sensitive wipes, roll on deodorant etc. A lot was on offers. Got everything for about £10

I'm interested to hear about the things ladies wish they took, or the things they took on good advice and pleased they did. Like a lady recommended to me a flexi jug to tip warm water down there, to sooth your lady region when trying to wee after giving birth x

I just wanted to share how pleased I am with myself :) I gave my close caboo sling to my cousin ages ago and said just to pass it on as I'd not need it again. I'll get a stretchy wrap with the baby box but really liked the convenience of the caboo. I only just picked one up on eBay this morning for £5! Delighted!!

Im due on 2nd February but I have a feeling that I will end up having a January baby so I will be closely following this thread too :p

I’ve started packing the baby’s hospital bag, got some onesies vests socks mittens and little hats in, and I bought some wipes that are good from newborn and put a nice car seat on layby that will last till she’s 4 yrs old so I’m finally starting to get stuff sorted out
