*January 2018 mummies - tri 3!*

Bless you both.

I hope it happens soon for you. They scanned me when I went to the induction suite megsmeadow - it was just with a handheld scanner to make sure the head was in the pelvis.

I've been in pain for the past 24+ hours with menstrual cramps that last hours at a time. Thought things were starting last night but then it died down.

Getting really fed up now but it seems I have lost my plug so really hope I am nearing the end. Am seeing my midwife tomorrow so we will just have to wait and see what she says. I called the dedicated labour line down here earlier today just to check that it was normal for cramps to last so long - I knew I wasn't in labour yet but this was just unexpected and have been stuck on the sofa all day.

carly she sounds like a delight!!! Unfortunately it's those horrible words and tones that stick with us.
I've had contractions today for a few hours which have now settled to very irregular and not as intense after a lie down.
I've also just had my midwife on the phone to tell me my induction is booked for Thursday!!!! I'll see her tomorrow for my sweep and get the details but she said about a going in on Thursday at 9 for a scan then they'll do induction from there. But why a scan? Is this a new thing pre induction?

Didn't even get chance to discuss induction with the horrible midwife apart from the fact they'll leave me 11 days to go over. How far over are you? Im 2 days, not sure I can cope another 9

You know what I did discover though, my little glimmer of hope, the mucus plug that had been coming out for days and in huge quantities... Well it regenerates. There is no end to that so basically means nothing to me  god sake x

Oh Carly I do feel for you, the mucus plug does regenerate throughout pregnancy but losing large amounts has always got to be a good sign at this point!
I'm 40+10 today, in tomorrow for an outpatient induction! Thank you for shedding light on the scan torino, it stopped me worrying last night. So today my midwife said that my babies head is still free so she couldn't do any examination of my cervix never mind a sweep. She said last week it was 7 out of 8 in the ripe and ready scale so I'm hoping tomorrow they will go straight to rupturing membranes. I know my body knows what to do, just a wee nudge in the right direction would help. Wish me luck!

Hope all goes well for you Meg.

I'm sure once you get going, you'll be fine.

I had the 24hr pessary and had nothing much for 22h (there was def something going on but I was able to manage fine). Then I had one proper contraction and that was it. Baby arrived about 80 minutes later!!

X

Lol wow quick labor mine was 18hrs

Hello, just a wee update, our baby girl arrived on Thursday after an outpatient induction turned inpatient. They gave me the propess but baby wasn't happy and contractions came thick and fast. The propess was put in at 11.30, removed at 1ish, taken to labour ward around 1.30, waters broken and baby was born almost immediately after at 2.44pm with the cord wrapped round her neck twice. All on gas and air, and two paracetamol.
Now the hard part, she still has no name!!!!! We're thinking Eve...

Who's all still hanging on?

She is lovely Meg. Well done and congratulations x

So I did post something here the other day but it appears not to have posted!

Anyway we had a little boy on Thursday at 5.03pm, weighing 8lb 4oz. Still trying to agree on a name but it’s proving tough!

Still, he is adorable and we are besotted with him!

Congratulations meg, and Kathryn, who is still left? I’m finding there is no time at the moment between 2 year old and newborn and then the other 3! Plus my recovery is slower this time, I’m still in agony 3 weeks later :( and our poor baby has been in hospital twice with breathing difficulties due to her picking up a cold almost immediately after she was born! My anxiety has been terrible! Good luck who is left :) x

Thought I'd finally share a photo... This is our wonderful little Jaxon :)
