*January 2018 mummies - tri 3!*

Hey, so I rang docs about possibility of SPD and he said in the olden days people just accepted aches and pains as part of pregnancy whereas now everything has a medical term. Think that was his way of saying to just deal with it. So helpful!!

What an ass!! We're in the 21st century now and do things the modern way! Medicine and science were no where near as advanced back then as they are now! In that day women had no choice but to struggle through certain pregnancy-related problems as there was simply nothing that could be done about it. Medicine has come a long way since then and there are lots of things around that can help pretty much any pregnancy-related problem. I'd call back again and tell them you want to speak to someone different as you are just NOT satisfied with who you spoke to before as they did not help you to resolve your issue whatsoever.

How inconsiderate of that man!! Hope you're ok Karen x

Thanks :) I wanted to remind him that people had limbs amputated without aneasthetic in the olden days too! Have been given some tips from a sports therapist I know, so will try those! X

Karen - deffo see another doctor and get some physio. Had my appointment yesterday apparently my issue is posture and ligaments being too relaxed. She did some bending/pulling, plus i've got some exercises to keep doing - and today, i've had very little pain at all! Honestly, it's well worth it. I will keep my exercises up, seeing her again in 4 weeks.

He said to just YouTube the exercises!! But surely everyone’s pain will be slightly different?? Mines mainly on one side. A teacher at my school is also a sports massage person and told me to keep legs closed (lol) and to walk backwards a few steps when I first get out of bed as it can help realign?? I never remember to do either! X

Keep your legs closed :lol: that's what got you into this situation lol

Yup, too late with that advice hahaha

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum :) I hit 27 weeks yesterday! My due date is 13th January and it's our first pregnancy. Suddenly feeling much larger!!

Hi magpiekate I added your name to the list on page one welcome, do you know what your haveing? :)

Thank you Mystery :) we are having a boy! It was supposed to be a surprise but little man had other ideas at the scan hehe. Thank you megsmeadow, happy 3rd trimester day!

27 weeks today ! :) good luck with the test mystery.

I have consultant app and scan next week, will be talking more about my birth options. I'm still undecided on an elective section. I think I'll stick with natural labour unless any complications arise in this last trimester. It's hard to know the right thing to do!

I have one week left at work. Then I'm on maternity leave, and we have a moving house date for 1st November too! Madness xx

Sugar - that all sounds very busy, but exciting!

I'm 28 weeks on Wednesday, so Midwife appointment tomorrow. It seems like AGES since I last saw anyone, I haven't since our scan at 20 weeks. Completely different to when I was pregnant with my first - so long between appointments this time.

I'm getting a bit obsessed about bump appearing smaller than I remember with my son, I just don't feel that big (Even tho I weighed more when I got pregnant this time!). I feel like I need reassurance she's ok in there, she literally doesn't move all day long, then does a few tiny wiggles that I can feel at night.

Really looking forward to half term next week!

Alipops x

My littlest one has been awake since 4. . :( my OH has just got up and I've come back to bed. Though I did do a lot of huffing and puffing about having to get up .. again! He will probably fall back asleep on the sofa now after I've had an hour of peppa pig! :(

We're getting the tail of the storm, and had to dismantle the trampoline last night as it flew across the garden! Thought it may have eased this morning but the wind is still ridiculous. Dread to think the state of things when it's daylight. . Lucky we only got the tail end though so shouldn't moan xx

Ali yes busy busy! We weren't going to look until next year but found something so went for it! It makes more sense to move before baby arrives anyway.
You have anterior placenta too don't you? I didn't have movements until about week 23/24 but now I do feel strong movements but I think baby is still head up so I think that's made a difference. So it could just be that the placenta is by your baby's feet. Or maybe she's just tucked into your back. My third didn't move much and he was just tucked away and so low down too. I'm carrying higher this time, which is unusual. I've always carried low, and striggled with sciatic pain. Now that pains just starting but isn't anywhere near as bad.

I still had a midwife app at 25 weeks, even though it's not my first. I have with all of them, but I've always been consultant led so that must be why.

X

Evening Girls,

I had my 28 week midwife appointment today - had blinking glucose in my urine, and baby is measuring slightly ahead of schedule. Plus, i've not put on any weight since my 8 week booking in appointment. Midwife thinks i might have Gestational Diabetes, but I passed the GTT test 3 weeks ago!

Rather than waiting until 34 weeks, i'm seeing her again in two weeks and we'll see what my urine has in it then. I must admit, my thirst is driving me round the bend.

I'm hoping to hold out at work until 20th December, but midwife reckons baby maybe more December than January birth wise - but I guess we'll just have to see.

Had a few tears when I got home from the appointment - just feeling a bit like I have so much to do and so much on. Work have only just organised my maternity cover today, after 2 people fell through. I'm hoping I can start to slow down after October half term. Just feeling like a bad mum of two already!! xx

It's very quiet here, how is everyone??

Just finished my last day at work today! We have half term now and then I officially start 1st November for 9months off. I know it's good to work as late as possible, but I feel this is the right decision for me. And all of us with all we have going on already, plus we're Moving house in 2 weeks and then it'll be Christmas coming!

Started with really bad sciatic pain now, can't sleep at all I'm so tired constantly :( xxx

It has quietened down hasn't it, I wonder that there's still a few folk over in tri2?
Sugar it must be a relief to finally be off, I could happily finish up now but I've got a project to finish and my students placement ends on the 8th of December, still only 7 weeks away.
I have a growth scan on Monday, consultant on Tuesday and midwife on Thursday, all go!!

I saw the midwife on the 17th then seeing the obgyn on the 31st as far as I know there are no more scans but bubbas moving so much and so strongly everyday now that I’ll only be worried if I don’t feel her move lol just want her here already I set up her bassinet already now I just stare at it waiting lol

Hi ladies!

So I officially hit 27 weeks today - guess that means I am joining this thread now! My app still says second tri so it must count 28 weeks as the third trimester. So I am still unsure as to whether or not I have reached that milestone yet, but I am going to join you all anyway!

Back ache is kicking in with a vengeance now. I hurt my lower back about 7 years ago and so I think it's now just making an existing problem worse. However I am doing yoga once a week which is helping!

Hope everybody else is doing ok!
