****** January 2015 mummy's to be ******

I found the highgate one really disorganised but the sonographers were very good. It's not that easy to find but we drove there and it was ok. I think it's quite a walk from the tube though. Do you know where The Flask pub is? It's right near there. I went once with my first baby and we had to wait over an hour as they were so behind. This time I had to wait 30 mins. So not great service when you're paying so much.

I've also gone to the Ultra Sound Direct place, not the one in Fenchurch Street but in the massive mothercare in Edmonton. The sonographer there also works in the Fenchurch street branch and she was fab! I didn't have to wait around and they are super generous with the pics, think she have me about 10! Including one of my subchrionic hematoma so I could show my GP. I think I'd definitely recommend this one over Ultrababy.

I hope you have a great experience either way!x

You've helped me decide!

The Fenchurch Street one was fab, running on-time and we got lots of piccies.

OH got stuck on the Tube and missed the start but the Sonographer let him in and kind of started from the beginning again.... 'Twas one of my nicest scans!

Am really tempted to book - if the worst happens I think they refund you??

Now do I go at 7w or 8w??

How many weeks are you going to be for your early scans? Xx

Happy Anniversary for next weekend Kitty :)

I have to admit Carnat, I would go for convenience over price unless it was a stupidly large difference in price. My scan is costing £95 and we have to drive 18 miles for it, but some of the places were only 12 miles away and charging £150, so I kind of went for price as it would have been an extra £55 for just 6 miles more.

Princess it's horrible waiting for your period due date to pass isn't it when you have got your bfp early. I'd try not to stress and just ignore the tests for now as they can be so different depending on urine concentration and time of day etc. Maybe wait until after period is due and do a FRER for peace of mind x

Hope everyone is ok today

C xx
Thanks ceecee! I did get a quote for 150 for an early scan the cheapest I found that had the date I wanted was 99 I paid a 30 deposit and the rest on the day...so doesn't seem so much on the day then! That was my thinking anyway !! Xx

Hi bunnyN. Yeah it is so weird finding our so early, I almost can't allow myself to believe it yet. My period is due tomorrow or the next day. Have you done more than one test. I keep thinking I need to keep testing to see if the result is stronger.

Oh yes :poas: here! I was testing every day since my BFP (sometimes twice). In general lines have gotten darker but it makes a big difference if you have had more to drink etc too so it's best not to read too much into it. Are you using internet cheepies? I Was impressed by how early they picked it up but it has to be said they don't give you a very dark line. I celebrated being late for my period by taking a FRER on Monday and I got a crazy dark line on that, darker than the control line. I'm getting a better line on the ICs now but it is still not half as dark as the control line. Until about the day before my period was due I was still getting very faint lines on them. I'm much happier now I'm officially late for my period. I've decided to cut down to testing every other day, partly because I've used the best part of the 50 pregnancy tests I ordered a couple of months back :).

Scan booked after work on June 5th, I'll be just over 7 weeks.

Appointments were going well fast so I had to get in there

Kitty we paid £30 deposit too, so I felt the same. £65 on the day feels a lot less and my mum has offered to pay some too :)

Carnat, mine is 7th June and I should be 7+5 if my dates are correct. Just a question though, are you not allowed to take children with you? We will have my 7 month old with us and as we live so far away from everyone then we have no option but to take him with us. I would just go myself, but part of the reason for booking an early one is because hubby will be away with work when our 12 week scan is due so will miss it.

I've got my scan on Monday and I'll be 7 weeks. It's costing £75

I would ring as ask Ceecee. one place I looked at said kiddies welcome, the place I actually booked with didn't mention it?

How is everyone today?

Had an early scan with epu this morning, there is a sac and a foetal pole, everything where it should be. Got to go back in ten days for another scan to make sure it's growing and hopefully have a heartbeat, still trying to keep a grounded mind about it, but it was exciting and the sonographer said that she was happy with it and everything was as she would expect for 6 weeks :)

Congrats Carnat xxx

Delighted for you madsticks xx

Congrats madstiicks! Did u have to do anything in particular before ur scan? Have a full bladder or not have one etc? I've got an early scan next thurs x

Good news!

Thank you ladies!
I'm quite pleased with my tiny weeny little white dot, just hoping that it behaves like a good embryo should and does some growing for next time. Still trying to keep a sensible head on and know it's still very early days, but we're in to six weeks so feel a little safer now :)

Lynne I wasn't told specifically to have a full bladder, but as I'm drinking so much water and needing to pee so much right now it was kind of unavoidable that it was quite full. Probably too full really as everything was a bit squished. Just make sure you drink lots throughout the day :)

Lots of you seem to be London based. If you're able to get there, St Georges hospital in Tooting's EPU works on a walk in basis. They open 8:30-11:00 and it is first come, first served and you self-refer. I went before when I miscarried and they were lovely. I arrived about 8:15 and was 3rd or 4th in the queue (get there early!). They give you a form to fill in and then scan you (internal) when it is your turn. Just thought this might be a cheaper option for some of you planning to pay for early scans. X

With all due respect the EPU is for ladies who need help, not for people that want a "cheaper" option?

Or have I misunderstood?

Great news ! Xxx

Great news madsticks :)

LynneK the instructions for my early scan are to go to the toilet about an hour before the appointment and then have plenty to drink. Guess it's up to me to determine how much is plenty lol

Has anyone started on the mad dreams yet? I only had a few quite late in tri-1 and the odd one in tri-3 last time but I had a horrible vivid one last night where I beat a random woman around the head with a full tin can until she was unconscious and her head was dented in because my dad grabbed her bum and then snook back to snog her, therefore cheating on my mum! Probably one of the oddest dreams I've had and not very nice either!
