3rd of march. i'm so so scared now, i was just burying my head in the sand thinking it would never come thru. less than 2 weeks. i cant even eat i'm so worried, which isnt like me!! i'm quite glad in a way tho cos she's started pulling herself up onto her knees the last few days and i was proper worried she'd start walking bfore the day came round.

god i'm sh*tting bricks!!

 Bless you hun. Its going to be awful at the time but in the long run you know its for the best. xx

Hold tight to the knowledge that this is the very best treatment for your little one - she will eternally thanks you when she is older Im sure and you are being the best mummy in the world for making sure she gets the op. Be strong and think towards when she is recovering and doing well

When Niamh had her 1st op at 7 months the weeks running up to the op i was just running on auto pilot. I managed to hold it together until a few weeks after the op and then it hit me and i just broke down. I just wanted to take the pain for Niamh.
Just make sure you don't go on your own with Katie to hospital so that you've got some moral support. I can honestly say that Niamh's operation was a horrible experience but it was no where near as bad as i'd imagined it to be.
Will be thinking of you xx

thanks hun! daddy's going with us, not sure how much use he'll be, but atleast i wont be sat there on my own! is there anything you can think of that would make the hospital stay a bit better? am trying to get hold of a portable dvd player so if she's awake at funny hours she's got something to watch and am going to take her favourite books and teddies and stuff in - am gona look a right pushy parent taking in a book about looking after community fish  they really havent given us much info, so i don have a clue what to take in!!

So are you mostly set hun ?

How long will Katie be in for?

Wisshing you all the very best

i'm mostly done i think yea! been packing her bag today and need to get a few more bits. tracking down a car seat's abit of a nightmare, especially as we dont know what angle she's going to be at yet! i could run my own chemist tho i swear, have been stocking up on everything i'm going to need for like the next month. have 4 boxes of size 6 nappies, 2 boxes of size 3 for katie, 8 packs of nappy booster pads for katie, 4 tubs of sma...and then there's all the calpol and nurofen and everything else we need

not sure how long she's going to be in, they said she's ok to go home whenever i'm comfortable to take her home. but whilst she's in hospital she can have morpheine, which they obv cant give us to take home. plus i'll get extra help in hospital. and daddy's doing the night shifts  well, he'd bloody best be!!

Will you just take Ella in with you? Hope it goes well chick xoxoxo

my mum's having ella, which i'm actually quite nervous about, cos even tho we live with her, i do all the day to day caring and stuff for her, just occasionally they give her cuddles and give her a bottle if i'm busy wit katie. last time they watched her, was when i went to the theatre and they were practically suicidal by the end of the night!! dont think it helps that she's used to me and only me, i put her to bed every night and stuff, so she's used to out little routine. thankffully tho, apart from the first night i'll be there to put her to bed and stuff. provided his lordship decides to pull his weight of course!!

i've just got images of wednesday morning coming and getting a text saying "sorry i cant make it"

I think then I'd deck him  In my own head it would be the last straw and then I'd go legal xx

How did I miss this before?

Katie will be brilliant, I have no doubt about it ! I think I said I had a similar operation when I was 6 months old and apparently giggled like a loony tune every time I had the opportunity to smack someone around the legs or face with my leg in plaster  You're so doing the best thing for her and I'm with Mamafy -if that useless waste of oxygen doesn't pull his weight/support you/help out, I have a pretty hefty, sharp sword (proper job) that hasn't seen battle since the 1800s but it would appreciate an outing!

awww hun, she will be fine! she wont know a thing thats happening, they are really good with kids. When my son had his op he thought the numbing cream they put on his hand was kool and then they read him a book while they were putting the dreaded needles in and he was brilliant, u will b suprised at how great katie will be, shes a star hun.. dont worry.
if that arsehole doesnt show his support at a time like this, then he doesnt deserve her...simples.

Hope it all goes well for katie and yourself. If he doesn't show up I promise to offer glorias services. She's in need of a good bit of violence.
