Getting period pains. Started in my back now progressed to bottom of my tummy. Been on and off for about 30 mins. Not sure if its anything to get excited about. No real pattern. It is more at the bottkm of my back. A bearble pain but its definitely there! Any advice? X

I'm a FTM so can't say for definite, but it sounds like labour might be starting to me! Try having a bath - monitor if they get more frequent and ring your maternity assessment unit. Let us know how you get on! xxxx

Erm it sounds very possible! Can you time the pains and see how far apart they are and how long each one lasts?

Can't really time them because its more like a constant pain that just gets a bit worse. The worst bit comes quite frequently say every 5 mins but inly lasting about 30 seconds. Now only in my back. Its like that wave of period pain x

I'd ring your maternity unit and just see what they advise - as it certainly sounds like things are starting :)

Rolling on my ball, not because of rhe pain but if its it I don't want it to stop. Will give it another hour and see how I go. It might stop. Not experienced broxton hicks so not sure if its just that. Been going on for about 1 hour now. Also had a big poo about 40 mins ago. Sorry tmi!

We were at ante natal earlier and what your describing is what the midwife says can be early labour!

Fingers crossed. Just keep thinking it isn't it and its going to go off x

With my first the pain started in my lower back so it could be hun I ended up phoning and asking advice after Id put up with it for 6 hours

Not had much sleep. Pain is getting stronger but not closer together. About 6 mins apart and lasting about 1 minute. Going to try a bath and then ring the birth centre.

Good luck Hun, hope it's the start xx

Good luck hunni it does sound promising xx

mine started in my back with ds so it is definitely a sign. It was a constant throb which was going on and on and then my plug went and then my waters went but henry was posterior ceph, so he eneded up being back2back labour so my pain never reverted to my belly and only stayed in my back. xx

Oooh exciting, I hope this is it! Definitely sounds like it could be.

Best of luck hunnie, hope it all goes smoothly xxx

It does sound promising, you've gone a bit quiet so I assume things have progressed a bit for you!

I've been having some bad pains in my lower back but I was told baby is back to back the other day so most likely that is the cause - boo!

Looking forward to an update x
