Is this a myth or the truth....

Is it true that really you should only have sex every other day when ttc as it means the sperm are of better quality, rather than everyday??

Just curious. I don't theink either me or my other half have the energy for everyday. Ist pregnancy was an accident hehe

It can sometimes work better that way as the guy will have more sperm built up, but statistically there is actually a higher chance of achieving pregnancy if you have sex more often before you ovulate. If the man has a sperm quality problem, then it's definitely best to wait a day in between bd sessions.

We managed to get BFP doing it everyday and doing it every other day so didn't make a difference for us.

we are trying it every day for the week leading up to ov, during ov and a few days after then if nothing happens after 6 months we will switch to every other day as dont think i can keep this up forever!!

Yeah thats what I am worried about, my otherhalf is up at 4.30 am to start work and doesn't get back til 6pm, and I work from home in the evening until 10-11pm as well as look after my daughter LOL - not quite sure I can fit it in everyday

I think that only applies if your oh has fertility issues, then they recommend every other day instead of every day so he can build up his sperm count.

there is also the thing about if you do it ev eryday you may end up doing it out of habbit rather than love! we have not done it every day its been more like everyother so fx it is ok

Interesting really. I agree it could feel 'forced' or make my otherhalf feel like a baby making machine by bd every day and I don't want that for either of us.

Its hard not to get carried away. I have benn broody for over a year now, but couldn't cos of anxiety probs, and now 3 of my friends have all annouced they are pregnant due in August I am gonna be surrounded hard to take your mind off it

me and my other half did it 3 times in the week i was at high fertility on my clearblue fertility monitor! (so every other day)
i also used to elevate my legs in the air afterwards to keep the swimmers in!

Thats what mine said 6 months ago, now he loves the 2ww rest as much as me

I can see my other OH will eventually love the 2ww rest too Donna He's an old git as well - 46 this yr Don't think his stamina is what it used to be

If any of your husbands get fed up doing it every day you can always borrow mine - he is banned until at least 12 weeks (only 5 and a half weeks to go! )
