That you can get "stuff" with your kids name on???

When we choose Georgia (or rather she did) I didn't realise that it would be popular enough to buy things with - you know like Xmas tree bobbles, pencils, money boxes etc.

Just wondering if we should factor this in for button. I remember it used to really bug me as a kid that I couldn't get named stuff, but my bro could!!

On my iPhone - so cant see tickers :(

It's not important to me in the slightest and neither of my children have overly popular names. If one had a popular name and the other didn't I simply wouldn't buy either if them things with their names on or I would buy them something from a place that personalises things for you. As I child I was never interested in having things with my name on so it wouldn't ever be a factor in my name choice.

I could never get stuff with my name on, and if on the rare occasion there was something it was always spelt the wrong way (My name is Rheann, which is quite an uncommon name but usually spelt rhianne) it never used to bug me too much cos there are plenty of ways to get things made with names on nowadays. Places like ebay are always good for personalising stuff with whatever you want :) xxx

I don't think there is anything you can't get personalised these days so I wouldn't worry! X

My name isn't on anything at all. However it made it extra special when family had things engraved or made for me <3 i wouldn't worry! Kids shouldnt have their names displayed in public Xx

Sent from my shit hot phone! Fo shizzle home girls.

As twinkles says you can get almost everything personalised online (even if you can't buy it in a store) so I wouldn't worry!

xxxx

I wouldnt get A anything with his name on it as i dont want strangers knowing his name, maybe i am weird? Anyway, you can personalise anything these days

I could never get things with my name on it and both my kids I don't often see stuff with the names on zack is usually spelt different and I hardly see Elliot however if you mind there is a website called the gift shop that sells loads of personalised stuff.

I've got loads with Daisy on. Bibs, cups, taggy, clothes, money bank etc but its Daisy Grace! So that bugs me! Ha! I've got stuff embroidered from disney store online tho. I adore personalised things xx

Sent from my BlackBerry using Tapatalk-its rubbish tho so can't see tickers or upload pics!

Me and my sister used to get so excited when we found things with our names on cos it was that uncommon that we did - in fact, I still use a personalised hairbrush now  I'd never do personalised stuff out and about, but love things like pencils for school and key rings! You can get so much personalised these days anyway on the Internet so don't think it's be an issue xx

Seeing as my boys names are usually number 1 & 2 on the 'most popular' list I reckon we're covered lol

Before I had Jack I always said if we chose a more unusual name for baby 1 then we'd do the same for baby 2. Turns out we went traditional lol

I think it's personal opinion x

Thanks ladies. I wouldn't use personalised stuff out and about either - for strangers knowing kids names. The one that made me think though - was the great big Xmas bauble we had on the tree that says "Georgia"

Obviously still very early but I have a couple of names in my head for a girl - one very common/modern and other is
Def not used much.
Xxx

Hi hun, I agree with the other girls you can get so much online nowadays. Personally I had a very common name growing up and I loved going in to card shops and garden centres and seeing my name on things (still do!) But if you like a name that isn't that common I wouldn't let it put you off choosing it. Love your lo's name by the way its so pretty x

Btw i havent seen any Antons around which i find very pleasing as I love the name but like the fact its not popular. Its a personal decision really but these days doesnt really matter in terms of stuff being available.

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

if ur child is going on a school trip u can give the teacher a sheet of peel off letters to stick on a pencil or something. and there is always keyrings with just the first letter on they r normally a lot nicer than ones with full names. i wont find things with our chosen names on as they r unusual and the spellings i have changed to make them unique.

Oh there are loads of websites , cost a bot more, btu you can get them, and baubles well you can get those or make one your own and paint the name on fine , even better ..

Always go with the more unsual name..... (thats me tho)! If the other 50,000 kids can buy the same cup, pen etc as they have the same name- well thats not very personal is it..

My kids names are Rhys , Toby , Briony and Devon, you can get Rhys with correct spelling nowaday but on 1999 when born onwards you couldn't. occasionally we will see Toby as it's becoming more popular, and the last two well no chance - but I tend to avoid personalised stuff as I could'nt get them for all.
