Internal stitches

Hello, I gave birth 5 days ago and I had a second degree tear and a long tear inside my vagina. It still stings a lot - but it's fine when I pee. The midwife has checked it today and said it's all looking fine but how long does it take for the stinging to stop?

Hiya hun. I had a second degree tear but it was only smallish so didn't get stitches and decided to let it heal on its own. But mine stung like hell for exactly a week - was so strange it was on the 7th day it just magically stopped stinging! For me it did sting when weeing though. Hope it heals for you soon - the stinging was probably the worst part of the whole thing! Xx

mine stung for just over a week then just stopped really suddenly and has been mine since ds is now 17 days old and im getting back on the horse on sunday xx
