Internal scan performed by male

Hey everyone,

i really need some advice.

I am 20 years old, i am a father to be, my fiance is 9 weeks now and the subject of male midwifery & internal scans seems to be all we debate about as i realy realy realy realy do not agree with it,
i am not sexist or prejudice or narrow minded.... i just dont want another man to probe in that region....thats supposed to be for me only!!
and what if the man midwife is better looking than me?
what if my fiance will enjoy it?
everytime i read a blog stating that it doesent make a difference weather its a man or woman....i always seem to find another blog that states "oh i hope its a man, i hope hes good looking, i would prefer a man, it feels good when a man does it etc"
hopefully you catch my drift....
i realy dont want our engagement to be at jepordy over this but she dosent understand how i feel (although weve had numerous arguements about it)
i love her dearly and want to be supportive.........can someone please please please HELP ME!!!!

from someone who has had an internal twice from a man i can tell you now its not sexual its not nice, infact they bleeding poke and prod like its nothing when infact its our insides so its sodding uncomfortable not to mention one of the most degrading things ever ahving your legs spread eagled and some strang bloke going down there, and as for good looking - seriously have you not seen male doctors lately lol nothing to worry about there hun at all.

just remember its no different to a woman doing it and surely if theyre making sure all is ok etc that is far more imprtant than the sex of the person doing it.

also id stop reading post on it as that is clearly not helping xxx

Just to let you ladies know. Callum sent a nice message saying thanks for the replies.

That's nice CherryBinky glad you had a response, I feel a bit bad that I upset him and have apologised, I was just so taken aback by the first thread I probably didn't react in the right way, I was seriously thinking it was someone trying to get a bad reaction, anyway, hope ur bumps coming along nicely x

I just wrote a great big long reply and posted it, but then looked up and saw you'ld changed your mind already. Well done :) Taking away my long reply as you don't need another lecture about health prof's now :)

Good man!! Glad to hear you've seen the light! Hope you and your fiancee enjoy the rest of the pregnancy :)

I have a male Consultant & I agree there is nothing that could possibly be LESS sexy.
In fact I'd far rather it was a female midwife with her fingers up there but does that make me a Lesbian or mean that I enjoy it? I think not...x

I agree it's not sexual at all. My doctor is a bloke and I've had smears and coils fitted and a boob job my surgeon was a bloke. When I was 19 I was mortified that my check up was with a bloke. It's not sexual at all but I cam see where you are coming from as it is a personal area and it's not nice to know that there's a bloke fumbling about with your Fiancees bits. When I was younger I would have thought the same if a young nurse was looking at my chaps bits and things and had the same anxieties "what if he fancied here and all that" but at the end of the day it's their job and cant say I would want it to be honest. They see one they've seen millions and they have probably got a girlfriend/wife who's at home that has to deal with the fact that their partner is looking at womens bits all day but accept the fact that nothing sexual goes on and that's saved for them!!. Besides, one major thing I have NEVER seen a good looking doctor let alone a good looking one that has had to look at my bits! Don't worry these lush doctors only exist on the tele and if one did have to go near my bits i would be really embarrassed and rather an old ugly one went near it!! xxxxxxx

That's not true, I work in a hospital and we have lots of nice looking drs. In fact, when I was preg with the twins my obs dr was gorgeous! x

LOL I've never seen a good looking one. I'd be well embarrassed if mine was gorgeous. Prob not what Callum wants to hear either :) xx

I was a bit embarrassed, this guy was absolutely gorgeous! Tanned, firm, green eyes and sooo caring - he was perfect, even his hair was gorgeous lol. It was embarrassing though ;) x

Gorgeous ones are always taken anyway or gay. Always the way. He probably had an equally as gorgeous other half that had to deal with him looking up womens bits every day :) xx

The fact is, whether they are good looking or not (and there are a few good looking Dr's at our local hospital, I still wouldn't prefer them to give me an internal), it's still not a sexual experince of any sort. It's great that Callum has come to terms with this and understands that if an internal is required then it needs to be done by a qualified professional who can help, regardless of gender.

Of course that's true, I'm a health professional myself and I would be deeply offended if anyone thought that I felt sexually towards any of my patients. I told my oh about the sexy dr and he just laughed lol ;) x

I did hit that fact on my post that it's not sexual. He also pointed that he was worried that they might be good looking so was advising from my experience of male doctors to reassure him.

Plus I'd be struck off! And health professional do have their own oh's at home! x

I've had an ex that went mad at my smears and a coil fitted by a man but having a big cold metal thing shoved up there and your bits stretched open isn't nice whether by a man or woman. :) Can't say I would want to do that job. I'm sure they see some horrendous sight which is enough to put anyone off looking at one ever again lol xx

My oh is really easy going. I got a lift home from our Christmas party by a gorgeous dr, my oh came to the door and was like "he's handsome" and I was like "yeah but he's a bit short" and he's like " you're awful, poor bloke" lol xx
