Hi ladies!
Sorry I've not logged on sooner, DH is supposed to be off today but has been called into work so thought I'd nab the opportunity to log on and update.
Appointment went really well, we didn't get to see the consultant, he was there but busy so we saw his registrar who was lovely, helpful and seemed to be really keen to get cracking.
I was really surprised when he asked me to drop my clothes so he could do an internal exam to check my womb/cervix using a speculum. He said everything looked fine.
DH has to give 2 semen samples, within a month of each other, just to check everything's fine with him. Really pleased with that, DH is understandably a bit nervous!
The doctor checked my scan pictures that the crappy GP sent off for, he said there ARE a few follicles on my ovaries but nothing that stands out as definite PCOS, he would expect 25% of women who have these scans to have the same results/pictures as what I have, so not standing out as anything really.
He's requested a whole new load of blood tests to check FSH, LH, Oestadiol, free androgen index and prolactin as well as rubella immunity(?).
I've been booked in for a hy cosy, we're just waiting for a letter with the appointment date.
Phewww... I think that's everything so far.
Oh yeah, my BMI is too high at 30, I weigh 80kg and am 5ft4-5 so defo need to lose weight.
No mention was made about Metformin or Clomid and to be honest, I had totally forgotten to even ask.
I don't think we'll be getting anything til we've got our results back from all our tests. I feel a bit overwhelmed with everything, like I knew what would happen but when you're hearing it and being booked in and even having the internal exam... My mind was swimming with stuff and I found myself at one point just a bit lost and I had to remind myself that we're doing this because we want a little bean.
Hope that doesn't sound OTT.
Sorry for the long rambly post!!
If anyone's had a hy cosy, please feel free to give your experience, I have an idea of what to expect though.
