Induction

For a first baby my labour was straightforward. I was induced at 37+6 due to developing OC and having a show of baby pooing inside me TMI sorry

They started the drip at 7am and although I had back pain it wasnt all that bad then got the gas an air about half hour before waters went and what a relief after that though contractions did get wporse and they had to turn the drip down as I wasny getting a break inbetween them

11hrs later Elise was born though I did have an episiotomy but not a bad one I dont think xx

I had a fab induction I went into hospital at 8.00am and has a pessary put in , contractions started about 1ish and my LO arrived at 10: 42 .

I dreaded going in for an induction as people only ever tell you the horror story's and not the positive ones but mine was great . I used gas and air an had a shot of diamorphine to help with the pain .

Xxxx

Sounds similar to my labour katielou, my LO was born 9 hours after contractions started. Quick induction! And I had dimorphine, I managed to sleep from 1-5cm as it made me so sleepy xxxx

It made me sleepy to but I felt abit drunk as well with it lol xxx

Me too! ESP at the tail end of it. I got it around 12 midnight and then at half 2 I woke in pain and was 5cm lol. I was panicking because I felt so drunk and drowsy I thought fuck, I'm about to have this baby how will I do this one? The the gas and air made it worse.

The MW were constantly telling me take it take it and eventually I gave oh the gas and air to hold and give me when I wanted it because I ended up feeling so out of it at one point. There are bits of my labour I don't even remember atall. Luckily oh was focused he told me everything!

xxxxx

My induction was mixed tbh.....but I wouldnt do it again and this time I refused induxtion and went straight for section. I went in at 5 cms and put straight on the drip and everything went from 0 to 100 pain wise in an hour. He was back to back so all in my bum and was strapped to a bed. You can enquire as to whether your hosp has wireless monitoring as some do now and that means your free to move.....

I wouldnt induction again x

I had a great labour. I was induced too... I have nothing else to compare it too.
The worst part was that my cervix wasn't ready, so I had to have 3 lots of a tablet inserted into the cervix. And they wernt sure if it was going to work. But by the 3rd one I was 1 1/2cms dilated and they were able to break my waters.
I had some gas and air getting my waters broken. Then I had the drip to bring on my contractions. It was quite intense because they just started coming 3 every 10 mins. I done an hour with gas and air then I had a morphine injection. Was amazing! I had an epidural, which I didn't like. Didn't work like I thought it would. 5 hours from having my waters broken I was 10cms.
I wanted to push, so I did. The midwife wanted me to lye and let the contractions do the work but the urge to push was unbelievable. I was a high risk of assisted delivery due to being induced and having an epi so I had a senior midwife all during my labour and had 2 other midwives present for the birth. But he came out himself, a little tear so I got stitches but no major dramas. And I was allowed home when he was 12 hours home.
I had a great experience.xx

Ok, I saw the registrar today and my induction has been moved forward to the 25/02. Only 3 days but stil... On 25 they're going to try the 1st pessary but then if that doesn't work they won't do the next one until 28th due to risk of haemhorrage (or however it's spelt lol) after my 1.4l blood loss last time.

Did the pessary fail for any of you? (Sorry I can't remember what you all said) xx
