induction question

The leaflet I was given about tonights induction says that I will be given the gel pessary etc but Im just wondering if they will still do this if Im already dilating?
Does anyone understand the ins and outs of inductions and which bit does what?

if you are far enough dilated they might just break your waters straight away. thats what they did with me. i was 2cm dilated when i went in for the induction.

I was about 2cm when I went in for induction at 39 weeks and they just broke my waters. Im pretty sure they would do the same at your hossie.

thanks for the replies girls. On saturday I was told that my cervix was 1.5cm thick but getting there and I was just under 3cm dilated.
How long did it take once they broke your water before baby arrived?
