I was told by A&E yesterday that i will need to be induced due to the severity of my SPD. I have had to book an appointment with my consultant to request this. Has anyone had this done before or have any advice? Thanks x
OMG my SPD just gone to a nightmare - I wonder if they will induce me now too..... about to see my physio but maybe I should just go to hospital? I can hardly put one foor in front of the other!! What has happened with you tomake you go to A&E if you dont mind me asking?? Sorry, I cant answer your question, I hope someone else can!
Course not, i had it in my hips an pelvis but my back went bad t the point where i couldn't get up without 2 ppl helping me. Its awful So i just went to A&E yesterday and a consultant there said its only going to get worse even with pain killers so had to get in touch with my midwife to start the ball rolling! xxx
I suffer from SPD too, can hardly walk and I'm barely sleeping as I can't turn over and get comfortable. I saw my consultant yesterday, (I think I'm requesting an elective section because of other problems but the SPD doesn't help), consultant told me here was no way they would induce me or set a date for an elective section for SPD. I'm really glad you spoke to someone that is understanding.
To request an elective section I have to write a letter as to why I believe they should allow me to go down the route of elective, I have to be very detailed & put all my points across, then all the consultants have a meeting to discuss me.
Aww that's not very understanding is it. Mines only to be induced and not for a section maybe that why they are being a bit better, they think shes going to be quite a big baby anyway so the longer i go the more pain apparently. It makes you wonder how people can have elective sections just because they want to and the people who are actually in pain suffering have to work really hard to convince them. Doesn't seen fair does it.
my spd is unbearable. ive had it for mths. ive moaned to the consultants and midwife about it and the response i got was its just one of those things'. i think if you push hard enough for an induction and explain your reasons you will get one. (my friend did this, she basically demanded one) but i suppose its how much you demand one. its your body and baby.
im getting induced at 39 wks but for different reasons. i can honestly say i have never been in so much pain. turning in bed is awful. i hope uou get sorted. x
Glad your getting induced and there is light at the end of the tunnel. Can't imagine how painful SPD must be, I get the usual bit of pelvic girdle pain in bed and that hurts enough some nights! Hope you girls get induced soon x
Im sorry youve been in so much pain, but im so glad they are able to do something about it rather than just make u put up with it! Let us know the induction date so we can stalk your labour watch
Thanks girls, it was only this week my back kicked off bad i couldn't get up and down without 2 people helping me either side and as you can imagine getting up every half an hour at night to go the toilet is a nightmare. Also i have a bad reaction to codine. So alls they have been saying is take paracetemol (which dont help)
The consultants secretary called me today tho and he can't see me until next friday to discuss it so its still going to be a while yet x
