Improving egg quality for the over 40's

Hello ladies, So I contacted anotehr lady re reflexology, chatted for ages! She was lovely, she also does hypnotherapy which is something else I have looked into. She said ideally teh best time to come would be early in my cycle just after period, so if I dont get a BFP this month then I am gonna book an appointment! Only 3dpo today so have a while yet.
MAkes me feel like I am actually doing something! I also want to try loose a bit of weight, I'm not really overweight as such but I am at the heaviest I have ever been, I need to start exercising as I do nothing!!!

Hope everyone okay x

That sounds much better staces, glad you found someone :) I hear you on the weight thing, I know a couple of people that have struggled to get pregnant and have succeeded when they've lost a bit of weight, they weren't big to begin with either. I'm also the heaviest I've ever been at the moment and need to get some weight off. I can manage the exercise, it's the food that's a problem :)

I have no willpower and I'm lazy...never a good combination! I need to get off my ass put down the pringles and start doing some excercise :oooo: my mum has a portable exercise machine you can do sit ups and press up, exercise upper body and legs etc...so I'm gonna borrow that.... I just keep forgetting to take it home LOL!!

Hi ladies, anyone taking Ubiqinol how much do you take per day? I have just upped my dose to 400mg, mainly because the tablets I take come in 200mg so thought would go 400. Still not started on the maca yet though..

I'm on 300 per day Staces, think I did 400 per day the first week or two. My acupuncturist recommend 300.

Should have said I started on 400 because I read an article saying it's good to boost the dosage the first couple of weeks. I'm also taking macca.

Hi all, just jumping on this thread as I am 41 and after nearly 2 years of TTC I am willing to try anything that might help! I don't take any supplements and would be interested to know what is the best thing I could try? Seems to be so much stuff!

Hi Nikkers. Having started on just one pre conception vitamin I'm now on millions. Honestly don't know which are best but after extensive googling I'm on folate (better version on folic acid supposedly), ubiquinol, vitamins c, d3, b complex, fish oils, Raw honey containing Royal jelly, propolis and bee pollen, probiotic, magnesium. If I had to just choose two I would probably go for folate and ubiquinol but that's just based in googling for hours, not real knowledge :)

Sorry, I also take a liquid iron supplement and I'm about to add zinc. I do worry that I'm not balancing everything correctly.

Syd - how do you find time in the day for all these lol  I think I'll carry on taking 400mg and then when this bottle finishes I will get the 100m bottle and go back to taking 300.

Nicky - I dont really know what I would consider the best thing to take... I would probably reccomend a multivitamin if you dont want to take vitamins seperate, if they are specific to ttc then they should contain the important ones. I read up on Ubiquinol a fair bit before deciding to take it and even if I wasn't ttc it seems like it could benefit you if over 40, same with Royal Jelly, both are 'supposed' to help improve egg quality.

Just started Reflexology as well, my reflexologist said she has a very high success rate in treating women TTc (She specialises in fertility) so we shall see, have another appt on Thursday and that should be just before I ovulate and she links it to your cycle.

I know, it's gotten seriously out of hand!

Lol Syd, I think you just get to a stage where you will pretty much try anything if you think it will help! I think I will just stick to what I currently take, I am gonna switch to decaf tea as well, dont drink cofffee and hardly ever drink alcohol so no worries there.

True. I really need to cut out the caffeine, I've reduced it but probably not enough.

I staretd drinking decaf tea last year and it was fine, but somehow ended up switching back to normal stuff! I also really want to loose some weight, I have put on a stone in a year :( I HATE the way I look right now!!
