Improving egg quality for the over 40's

Should I be spacing out all these things I'm taking throughout the day ?. I had the Maca this morning mixed into a lemon and honey juice, then I had breakfast with bee pollen in it. I took the Co Q10 straight after, just had lunch and took Royal jelly. I've ordered wheatgrass powder too. Blimey it seems like I am taking lots daily, is it ok to take them all together ? and how long do you have to take them all ?, do you stop at ovulation or carry on taking it all ? xx

I know what you mean, my vitamin bottle collection is now ridiculous! I'm not aware of any issues with taking stuff together. I think I read somewhere that if you're taking more than one coq10 tablet per day it's a good idea to spread the dose out, so one in the morning and one in the evening. Other than that I just take some things with breakfast and the rest with lunch.

Just one more thought, both my reflexologist and my acupuncturist have told me a healthy gut can be key to getting pregnant so I also take a probiotic. Oh, and vitamin D3 is supposed to be very important (I think it's D2 you get in most supplements). Honestly, it's never ending...

Lol, I'm so glad I'm not the only one Syd, I've now just taken my pregnancy vitamin too, blimey, my kids will wonder what all this weird stuff is, I've not told them I'm ttc incase it never happens due to my age. I have been taking 2 Q10 tablets together so I will space them out during the day. I will have to set the alarm clock on my phone 3 times a day so I don't forget to take any lol xx

I have a bag of crushed linseed in the fridge, that has a probiotic in it and vitamin D3. I sometimes buy kefeer too, it has a very high amount of beneficial bacterial cultures in it xx

I'm very interested in wheatgrass. I like natural things. It's so easy to add it to the smoothie.

xxx

The wheatgrass shots you only take 5 mls once or twice a day and the bottle has 30 doses in it, I took it once a day
Bee propolis 500mg once a day (1 capsule)
Royal jelly 1500mg once a day (3 capsules)
Maca 1000mg once a day (2 capsules)
Spirulina once a day (1 capsule)
Serrapeptase 80,000iu once a day (1 tablet)
I took mine all together at night before bed throughout the month, these things need to build up in your system to have any effect xx

Thanks Karen, fingers crossed all this effort pays off. Just want me and my fiancé to have our first baby together and our last as we have children from previous relationship. It would complete our family xx

Good luck to you both, never give up xx
What I will say as well though, on top of these supplements to improve my egg quality and lining etc, I truly believe the reflexology helped me actually catch as it relaxed me so much and totally took away the stress and anxiety of TTC xx

Well ladies, I started my wheatgrass today. I've decided I'm going to spend the next 3 months getting my body (and eggs) into the best shape possible and give myself to the end of the year to conceive. By then I'll be almost 45 and will have to come to terms with the fact that if it hasn't happened by then, it's not going to happen.

I'm going to try and take all the right vitamins and supplements, do regular exercise and eat as cleanly as I can. And hope I can stay feeling as positive as I do this morning :)

I love this thread!! SOme great ideas here, problem with me is I struggle to take anything naturally as I am really fussy with taste and smell...I cant even have mayonnaise near me as it makes me gag lol! I dont like smoothies so cant even mix it up....

I've just actually emailed someone about reflexology today, trying to find someone who specialises in fertility reflexology.

Wow Karen half way already, thats amazing. Must feel so surreal for you x

That doesn't help Staces :(

I see a reflexologist, she's lovely and full of great advice. I've also just started acupuncture.

Syd43, this is like reading my own life. I broke down yesterday on the phone to my partner, af arrived early, I was so upset because for me time is running out, I will be 44 in August, I spoke in great depth to my partner and told him that I will give it this year to catch pregnant, if not then next year I will get sterilized. He was so upset as he wants this as much as me, I told him I would stop mentioning ttc as I'm getting obsessed with it. He told me not to stop talking about it as he was totally obsessed with it too. I don't know how I will feel the end of the year but he says there is no way he is giving up bless him.
The wheatgrass is yummy, I'm addicted to it lol. Fingers crossed for us age challenged ttc'ers, lets hope and pray that this is our year xxxxx

Yep, saying I'll come to terms with it is one thing, the reality of knowing I'll never be a mother is something else entirely...

I am hoping to start reflexology soon, quite difficult to find one who specialises in fetility though in my area! Seems I may have to travel out a bit, I spoke to opne yesterday who said she was qualified in maternity reflexology, I dont doubt her qualifcations and sure she is very nice but It was a very awkward conversation and I'm not sure if she is the one for me... maybe I am being too fussy lol :oooo:

You need to feel comfortable with the person doing it, it can make you feel emotional and vulnerable at times. Trust your instinct and find somebody else xx

I absolutely agree with scn, I felt comfortable with my lady from the minute I started talking to her. If something feels off, she's not right for you. Good luck.

I contacted another lady who had a great website and has treated women TTC, she emailed me back and I am going to call her later and see... she's a little further away and more expensive which is a pain but would rather have someone i am comfortable with.
